Job Description

We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Senior Data Architect with deep Databricks expertise, enterprise system design experience, and proven data architecture migration capabilities.

The ideal candidate must demonstrate strong technical depth, excellent communication skills, and the maturity to independently engage with business stakeholders, technical teams, and enterprise architects.

This role will support the analysis, mapping, design, and migration of existing data products from an Oracle Exadata environment to a new source system (Helix) and downstream analytics platform.

The client has emphasized that candidates must possess both hands-on technical expertise in data architecture migration and the communication maturity necessary to lead complex enterprise discussions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise data architecture analysis, design, and migration activities.

• Analyze existing Exadata data products, database structures, tables, columns, and dependencies.

• Collaborate directly with business users to identify current data usage, reporting requirements, and technical specifications.

• Work with Helix source system teams to map existing business-required data elements to the new source environment.

• Develop comprehensive Source-to-Target Mapping (STTM) documentation.

• Guide junior team members in preparing technical mapping documentation.

• Provide hands-on technical leadership throughout data architecture migration activities.

• Guide data engineers and developers in designing and implementing new target tables within the analytics platform.

• Apply Databricks expertise to enterprise data architecture and migration solutions.

• Lead technical discussions between business users, source system teams, developers, and data engineers.

• Identify architecture gaps, data dependencies, migration risks, and technical challenges.

• Translate business requirements into scalable, enterprise-level technical solutions.

• Clearly communicate complex architecture and migration concepts to technical and nontechnical stakeholders.

Must-Have Qualifications

• 6–8+ years of relevant data architecture, data engineering, or enterprise data warehousing experience, with demonstrated architecture ownership.

• Deep, hands-on Databricks expertise.

• Proven experience with enterprise data architecture and migration projects.

• Strong hands-on SQL proficiency.

• Extensive data warehousing, data modeling, and source-to-target mapping experience.

• Demonstrated ability to design complex enterprise data systems.

• Hands-on experience analyzing source systems and mapping data to target environments.

• Strong understanding of data integration, transformation, and migration processes.

• Proven experience guiding technical teams and making architecture/design decisions.

• Excellent communication skills, professional maturity, and stakeholder management capabilities.

• Ability to independently facilitate technical discussions with business users, developers, and architecture teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Oracle Exadata experience.

• Experience with legacy data warehouse modernization projects.

• Experience with Databricks-based analytics environments.

• Familiarity with Helix source systems.

• Prior experience leading or mentoring junior technical resources.
