Role Overview
Seeking a Senior Data Architect to lead the modernization of Wawa's enterprise dimensional data warehouse and analytics environment. The role is heavily focused on Snowflake, Python, Kimball/star-schema dimensional modeling, certified data products, and enterprise analytics architecture. Key Responsibilities
Lead redesign and modernization of enterprise dimensional data warehouses using Kimball/star schema
Define standards for dimensional modeling, semantic consistency, certified datasets, and reporting structures
Develop conceptual, logical, and physical enterprise data models
Architect scalable Snowflake data and transformation solutions
Establish Python-based data engineering standards and reusable patterns
Design curated/certified datasets supporting executive dashboards, operational reporting, and self-service BI
Align KPI definitions, reporting logic, and semantic models across the organization
Drive data governance, lineage, quality, and consistency
Provide architecture leadership and mentorship to data engineers/modelers
Lead modernization roadmaps and improve scalability across the analytics ecosystem
Required Qualifications
8+ years of enterprise data architecture, analytics engineering, or data warehousing experience
MUST HAVE: Strong Snowflake expertise
MUST HAVE: Advanced Python development
MUST HAVE: Deep Kimball/star-schema dimensional modeling experience
MUST HAVE: Enterprise dashboarding and certified data product experience
Strong SQL development and optimization
Experience designing curated reporting layers and semantic models
Experience supporting Tableau, Power BI, or similar enterprise BI platforms
Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills
Preferred
AWS cloud experience
Databricks or distributed processing frameworks
Experience modernizing large enterprise analytics and reporting environments
