Senior Data Developer

Global Financial Firm located in Tampa, FL has an immediate contract opportunity for a Senior Data Developer.

Pay Rate: $71.00 - $75.00 Negotiable based upon years of experience

Summary:

• Location: Tampa, FL
• Work Mode: Hybrid Schedule

Responsibilities:

• Analyze complex financial data, identify trends, patterns, anomalies to provide actionable insights to business units such as finance, risk, and operations.
• Write and optimize complex SQL queries for data extraction, reporting, and analysis.
• Develop stored procedures, triggers, and functions in Oracle to automate data-related processes.
• Design and implement reporting solutions, utilizing SQL, scripting languages (Python), and other data analytical tools to deliver meaningful and accurate data visualizations.
• Leverage programming languages (Python, etc.) to automate manual tasks, develop data reconciliation and data quality checks.
• Develop data analytical reports/dashboards based on business requirements.
• Address and resolve complex data-related issues, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
• Collaborate with team members, technology partners, and business partners to identify efficient and strategic solutions.
• Communicate technical solutions and findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring clear understanding of application functions and financial data.
• Provide inputs during development and implementation phases, including formulation and definition of systems scope, objectives, and necessary system enhancements for complex, high-impact projects.
• Manage multiple program sub-streams and aid in developing technology solutions based on analysis.
• Review existing processes critically to identify inefficiencies and automation solutions.
• Author artifacts such as architectural proposals and technical solutions, and communication materials for senior management and key business partners.
• Act as SME to senior stakeholders and/or other team members.

Requirements:

• Minimum 8 years of relevant hands-on work experience as a Senior Data Developer or Data Analytics Lead.
• Expertise in designing and maintaining Oracle PL/SQL queries.
• Expertise in Python programming.
• Strong understanding of relational databases.
• Experience performing in-depth data analysis and data profiling activities.
• Experience mentoring/leading other data analysts.
• Strong interpersonal skills and techniques to solve dynamic problems; excellent teamwork skills.
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong consulting skills.
• Experience identifying and implementing process improvement.
• Solid skills effectively managing multiple small to large projects simultaneously in a cross-functional environment.
• Awareness and understanding of AI/ML tools and techniques in data analytics (e.g., machine learning algorithms, natural language processing, predictive modeling).

Preferred Skills:

• Practical experience applying AI/ML techniques in data analysis projects is a plus.
• Exposure to data visualization tools: Tableau, Power BI, etc. (nice to have).

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Data Science or Analytics, Statistics, Engineering, or other similar degrees.
