Job Description
Kforce has a client seeking a Senior Snowflake Data Engineer in Fort Lauderdale, FL to design, develop, and optimize scalable enterprise data solutions supporting analytics, reporting, and business intelligence. This hands-on role will build reliable data pipelines, implement Snowflake best practices, and ensure critical data assets meet performance, security, quality, and availability standards.
Responsibilities include:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Snowflake, SQL, Python, and modern data engineering frameworks
- Build and support cloud-based data lakes, data warehouses, and analytics platforms
- Architect and optimize Snowflake data models, Tasks, Streams, Virtual Warehouses, clustering strategies, RBAC, and data-sharing capabilities
- Monitor query performance, storage consumption, data processing, and platform costs
- Develop automated, reusable patterns for ingestion, transformation, validation, testing, and monitoring
- Apply dimensional modeling and data warehousing best practices
- Troubleshoot data accuracy, completeness, latency, performance, and reliability issues
- Support data governance, metadata management, lineage, security, and access-control initiatives
- Partner with analysts, data scientists, product owners, application teams, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions
- Participate in architecture decisions, document technical designs, and mentor less-experienced engineers
- Independently manage solutions from requirements gathering through deployment and production support
Requirements:
- 7+ years of experience in data engineering, data warehousing, or a related discipline
- 5+ years of hands-on Snowflake experience in enterprise environments
- Strong experience with Snowflake Tasks, Streams, Virtual Warehouses, RBAC, clustering, data sharing, performance tuning, and cost optimization
- Experience designing and supporting large-scale ETL/ELT pipelines, data lakes, and data warehouses
- Experience with Azure and/or AWS cloud data services
- Experience with orchestration tools such as Azure Data Factory or Apache Airflow
- Experience implementing data validation, testing, monitoring, and operational support processes
- Strong knowledge of dimensional modeling, distributed data systems, data integration, and modern analytics architectures
- Proficiency with Python for data processing and automation
- Advanced Snowflake SQL and general SQL development skills
- Strong communication, documentation, problem-solving, and stakeholder-management skills
- Ability to independently design, deploy, troubleshoot, and maintain production data solutions
- Ability to mentor engineers and contribute to technical standards
- SnowPro certification
- CI/CD experience using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions
- Experience with Databricks, Apache Spark, or Delta Lake
- Knowledge of data governance, metadata, lineage, and compliance practices
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
