Senior Data Engineer

About the Role

This position involves designing, developing, and delivering impactful BI, ETL, and data warehouse solutions. It plays a crucial role in the organization's data modernization strategy by utilizing Microsoft Azure, Databricks, and AI automation to enhance data accuracy and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and deliver impactful BI and data warehouse solutions supporting business growth.
• Drive data modernization initiatives by leveraging Azure, Databricks, and AI automation to improve data accuracy and operational efficiency.
• Build scalable data engineering pipelines to enhance enterprise analytics and reporting.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop, test, and implement data warehouse applications.
• Maintain high-quality solutions through code reviews, coding standards, and ETL testing.
• Provide technical guidance to a team of Data Engineers, promoting best practices and ensuring strong performance.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field.
• 8 years of experience in data engineering.
• 5 years of experience developing enterprise ETL/data integration solutions using Informatica PowerCenter, SSIS, Databricks, or similar technologies.
• Strong hands-on experience with data integration and ETL, primarily using Informatica.
• Advanced SQL skills, including writing complex queries and database performance tuning.
• Strong troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve data issues.
• Experience with data warehousing, BI solutions, and enterprise reporting.
• Exposure to Python, PySpark, and Databricks is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Deep Informatica PowerCenter and enterprise ETL/data integration experience.
• Strong SQL development and performance tuning capabilities.
• Experience building and supporting enterprise data pipelines and warehouse solutions.
• A solid understanding of BI and reporting environments.
• Exposure to Azure, Databricks, Python, and PySpark.

Work Environment

• Work Location: Onsite in Waukegan, IL, five days per week.
• Interview Process: Initial interview will be conducted remotely.
• Employment Preference: Full-time direct hire preferred; contract-to-hire is also an option.
• Visa Considerations: Candidates requiring sponsorship may be considered, provided they will not require employer sponsorship by the time of conversion (approximately 12 months for contract-to-hire).
