Senior DB2 z/OS Database Administrator

Pay Range: $59.80hr - $64.80hr

Job Overview:

The database administration team is responsible for ensuring the application and processing architectures, data dictionaries, and database schemas meet standard data requirements. The candidate in this position will assist in the design, development, amendment, and optimization of schemas to meet system requirements. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to develop database and warehousing designs across multiple platforms and computing environments, working as part of a team to support data architecture and meet security standards.

Education:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field, or equivalent work experience.

Experience:

• The candidate must have skill and 12 years combined experience in database administration for the following database platforms: DB2 for z/OS, SQL Server 2008R2/2012, and Oracle 10g and above.
• Experience with the client integrated database infrastructure is a plus.
• Knowledge of the organization's Financial Management applications is a plus.
• Knowledge of the integrated application environment is a plus.

Primary Job Duties and Tasks:

The successful candidate will primarily be tasked with performing Database (DB2, SQL Server, Oracle, GIS) planning and operational activities including, but not limited to, the following:

• Daily operational and database administration activities.
• Plan, design, implement, and support database structures.
• Conduct database performance monitoring and tuning.
• Develop and maintain database administration procedures and documentation.
• Perform SQL Code reviews.
• Assist with training and mentoring other technical staff, or perform other database/infrastructure activities as requested.
