The Senior Design Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing complex products and components from concept through production. This role requires strong expertise in 3D CAD modeling, surface and solid modeling, engineering design, and product development, with the ability to translate customer and product requirements into manufacturable designs. The engineer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, support engineering changes, resolve design issues, and ensure designs meet quality, performance, cost, and regulatory requirements.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
Typically 5-10+ years of professional design engineering experience.
Strong experience with 3D CAD modeling and engineering design.
Advanced proficiency with CATIA, 3DEXPERIENCE, or comparable CAD platforms.
Experience with Generative Shape Design (GSD) and complex surface modeling preferred.
Strong knowledge of solid modeling, assembly design, and design optimization.
Experience with GD&T, tolerance analysis, and engineering drawings.
Understanding of manufacturing processes and Design for Manufacturability (DFM).
Experience supporting New Product Development (NPD) and engineering change processes.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional and collaborative environment.
Experience in automotive, aerospace, medical device, or advanced manufacturing environments is a plus.
Develop and modify 3D CAD models for New Product Development (NPD) using CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE.
Create and manage complex surface and solid models using Generative Shape Design (GSD) techniques.
Perform design optimization and engineering changes based on product requirements.
Build and validate assemblies for fit, function, manufacturability, and performance.
Generate detailed production drawings, GD&T annotations, and engineering documentation.
Manage Engineering Change Requests/Orders/Notices (ECR/ECO/ECN) while ensuring design data integrity.
Support product development activities throughout the design lifecycle and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Ensure compliance with customer specifications, design standards, and PLM processes.
Boat/Yacht/Marine vessel design experience is an added advantage.
