Location: Must be willing and able to be based in Modesto, CA (Requires 3 days per week onsite)

A Taste of What Youll Do

As a Senior Designer in GALLO Creative, youll shape how wine, spirits and beverage brands look and feel through identity and packaging design, and help activate those brands across marketing channels, with design shaped by how each channel works.

Your work will span innovation, renovation, line extensions and packaging systems across a wide range of brands, from everyday favorites to luxury icons, sold nationally and globally.

In this role, youll:

• Own your projects from brief through final design, partnering with Creative leadership and brand teams along the way
• Turn consumer insights and business objectives into design thats strategically sound and beautifully made
• Help carry that work into multi-channel brand expressions
• Present your work to creative and business leaders, with clear strategic rationale behind your recommendations
• Bring a refined eye for typography, structure, materials and finishes, along with a considered point of view on what each brand needs
• Grow alongside the team, taking on bigger brand challenges as you go

Success in this role means identity and packaging work that builds a brands equity and earns its place on shelf.

The ideal candidate is a senior brand designer with exceptional packaging and identity experience on national or global consumer brands, and a sophisticated design sensibility that lifts brands at every price point. Youve likely come from a branding agency or a comparable in-house team.

What Youll Need

• Bachelors degree in graphic design, fine arts, advertising, communications, and/or journalism plus 4 years of experience in graphic design, copywriting, art direction and/or campaign development; OR Bachelors degree plus graphic design, fine arts, communication, advertising, journalism plus 3 years of Gallo creative experience; OR High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 8 years of experience in graphic design, copywriting, art direction and/or campaign development.
• Original portfolio that contains a collection of commercial work across a variety of industries/client organizations and demonstrates a range of output, skills, and creative experience.
• Ability to interface effectively with clients and Client Partnership colleagues to arrive at sound creative solutions that meet business objectives.
• Expertise developing and refining designs from conception through execution; skilled in design composition, typography and executing sketches or designs.
• Understanding of messaging, design, and production principles across all forms of media; knowledge of printing and digital production technologies and methodologies.
• Experience working as part of a multi-functional marketing communications team to develop design output.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, organizational skills, attention to detail, and follow-through.
• Ability to succeed under pressure, managing multiple concurrent projects while shifting priorities and responding to changing business conditions and corresponding needs.
• Strong interpersonal skills, conflict-resolution, and relationship-building skills.
• Experience with Microsoft 365 productivity apps including Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, etc.), Keynote, and cloud-based project management systems/platforms, e.g. Workfront, Basecamp, etc.
• Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.
• Required to be 18 years or older. This may be in addition to other age requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.

How Youll Stand Out

• Bachelors degree in graphic design, fine arts, advertising, communications, and/or journalism plus 6 years of experience in graphic design, copywriting, art direction and/or campaign development reflecting increasing levels or responsibility.
• External agency developing design solutions on behalf of assorted clients and/or global brands.
• Skilled in designing retail structures, point of sale, web and digital engagements, social media content for consumer target audiences.
• Shopper, omni-commerce creative design and/or brand identity, package design, brand visual language.
• Design experience in spirits, beer, beverage or lifestyle industries.

The Fine Print

• The Company does not sponsor for employment-based visas for this position now or in the future.
• We offer a broad salary range to allow for long-term growth. Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by multiple factors, including, but not limited to, education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed between the entry point and middle of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors. In addition to the salary, this position may be eligible for bonuses, incentive plans, or participate in tasting room tip pools, as applicable.
• This position will be based in the location(s) specified in the job posting with an option for occasional telecommuting. You will be expected to live within a commutable distance.
