The Senior DevOps & Automation Engineer is responsible for the automation, deployment, security, modernization, and 24x7 operational support of mission-critical Payments, Personal Banking, and Business Banking applications. This role supports platforms that enable payment exception processing, collections, remittances, account reconciliation, billing, profitability reporting, and financial accounting operations across the banking ecosystem. The position combines DevOps Engineering, Cloud Technologies, Application Support, Release Management, Disaster Recovery Automation, and Security Remediation across on-premises, AWS, and Azure environments. The engineer partners with business users, vendors, infrastructure teams, and security teams to deliver secure, scalable, and highly available solutions while driving automation, cloud modernization, operational excellence, and continuous improvement across critical banking platforms. Roles & Responsibilities • Provide 24x7 operational support for the TRIPS Exceptions, Incoming, Collections, Adjustments, Disputes, and Image Fulfillment platforms, ensuring timely processing of payment exceptions, returned items, adjustments, and customer disputes across multiple banking channels. • Support and maintain Account Reconciliation Package (ARP) and Account Reconciliation Management System (ARMS) applications, ensuring the accuracy of reconciliation processes, exception management, and financial reporting activities. • Administer and support the Electronic Remittance System (ERS) and related file transmission processes, including automated file transfers, monitoring, troubleshooting, and production support. • Manage application support, deployments, upgrades, and operational activities for Pricing & Profitability Preparation (PRP), enabling accurate business reporting and profitability analysis. • Provide technical support and release management for PEP+ Billing, associated Mainframe batch jobs, and integrated distributed systems supporting billing and financial operations. • Maintain and support International Accounting System (IAS) and XAA Billing applications, ensuring reliable accounting, invoicing, reconciliation, and financial processing capabilities. • Deploy, configure, maintain, and support vendor-developed applications built on .NET, IIS, SQL Server, Java, Mainframe, AWS, and Azure platforms. • Design, develop, and maintain automation solutions for application deployments, secure file transfers, batch processing, monitoring, operational workflows, and disaster recovery testing. • Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines using industry-standard DevOps tools including Jenkins, Bamboo, Ansible, Git, Bitbucket, Maven, Docker, SonarQube, and Jira. • Develop automation scripts using PowerShell, Python, Shell Scripting, Perl, and Batch technologies to streamline operational support and reduce manual efforts. • Perform application deployments, upgrades, hotfix implementations, and platform migrations following enterprise change management processes. • Execute regression testing, production validation, and post-implementation verification following application upgrades and releases. • Lead vulnerability remediation, security patching, compliance activities, and system hardening across application, web, database, and cloud environments. • Support AWS and Azure cloud migration initiatives and modernization programs, including architecture design, implementation, and operational support. • Perform troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem management for production incidents impacting critical business and banking applications. • Gather and analyze business requirements, working closely with business users, operations teams, vendors, and technology partners to deliver effective technical solutions. • Design and implement integration architectures connecting cloud services, enterprise applications, databases, secure file transfer platforms, and Mainframe systems. • Develop reusable frameworks, utilities, and shared components to improve operational efficiency, scalability, and maintainability. • Support disaster recovery planning, execution, testing, and automation to ensure business continuity and compliance requirements are met. • Train business users and support teams on application functionality, operational procedures, and platform capabilities. • Develop and maintain technical documentation, deployment procedures, support runbooks, disaster recovery plans, and knowledge repositories. • Create operational dashboards, business intelligence reports, and data visualizations using Power BI, Tableau, and Crystal Reports. Required Skills • Strong experience in DevOps Automation, Application Support, Release Management, and Production Operations, supporting mission-critical banking applications including TRIPS, ARP, ARMS, ERS, PRP, PEP+ Billing, IAS, and XAA Billing. • Hands-on expertise in .NET, IIS, SQL Server, PowerShell/Python scripting, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms (AWS and Azure), with experience supporting payment processing, reconciliation, billing, remittance, and financial accounting applications. • Proven experience in application deployments, disaster recovery testing, vulnerability remediation, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and operational support within highly available Personal Banking, Business Banking, Payments, and Financial Services environments. Preferred Skills • Experience supporting banking, payments, reconciliation, remittance, billing, and financial accounting applications. • Knowledge of Mainframe technologies including DB2, COBOL, CICS, REXX, and batch processing. • Experience with business intelligence and reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, and Crystal Reports.
