UCLA Health is seeking an accomplished and visionary Senior Director, Organizational Development & Learning (Senior Director) to lead the organization's enterprise learning, leadership development, talent growth, and organizational effectiveness strategies.

Reporting directly to the Chief Human Resources Officer, the Senior Director serves as the executive leader responsible for shaping and advancing UCLA Health's vision as a high-performing learning organization. This role will drive integrated strategies that strengthen leadership capability, elevate employee experience, support organizational transformation, and ensure employees at all levels have access to meaningful professional growth opportunities.

The Senior Director will lead a team of organizational development and learning professionals and oversee the design, implementation, measurement, and continuous evolution of enterprise-wide leadership development, employee learning, organizational effectiveness, and change management initiatives. This leader will work closely with executive leadership, operational leaders, and HR partners to build the capabilities necessary to support UCLA Health's strategic priorities and future growth.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Developing and executing a comprehensive enterprise-wide organizational development and learning strategy aligned with UCLA Health's mission, vision, and strategic priorities.
  • Leading leadership development programs that prepare current and future leaders to successfully navigate growth, transformation, and organizational complexity.
  • Designing and implementing change management, talent development, succession planning, coaching, and organizational effectiveness initiatives.
  • Partnering with senior executives, HR leaders, and operational stakeholders to enhance employee engagement, leadership capability, workforce effectiveness, and career development.
  • Expanding access to learning and professional development opportunities across UCLA Health's diverse and geographically distributed workforce.
  • Establishing measurement frameworks and analytics that assess learning effectiveness, leadership impact, employee experience, retention, and organizational outcomes.
  • Leveraging best practices and emerging trends in organizational development, workforce development, leadership education, and adult learning to drive innovation and organizational performance.
  • Building and developing a high-performing Organizational Development & Learning team while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Representing UCLA Health nationally as a thought leader in learning, leadership development, and organizational effectiveness.

The successful candidate will be a strategic and collaborative executive with deep expertise in organizational development, leadership development, change management, and talent strategy within large, complex organizations. This individual will possess exceptional consulting, relationship-building, and influencing skills, along with a demonstrated ability to translate organizational priorities into scalable programs that drive measurable business results. Experience leading enterprise transformation initiatives, developing leadership pipelines, and leveraging workforce analytics to inform decision-making is highly desirable.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Organizational Development, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Eight or more years of progressive organizational development and learning experience.
  • Five or more years of progressive leadership experience with demonstrated success leading teams and enterprise-wide initiatives.
  • Experience developing and implementing leadership development, learning, talent management, and organizational effectiveness programs within complex organizations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Organizational Development, Human Resources, Business Administration, Leadership, or a related field.
  • Experience within a large academic health system, healthcare organization, or similarly complex matrixed environment.
  • Professional certifications in organizational development, executive coaching, leadership development, talent management, or change management.

As a condition of employment, the final candidate who accepts an offer of employment will be required to disclose if they have been subject to any final administrative or judicial decisions within the last seven years determining that they committed any misconduct; or have filed an appeal of a finding of substantiated misconduct with a previous employer.
