Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Senior DME Billing Specialist for an established healthcare organization dedicated to providing essential medical equipment and supplies to patients and families. This is a fully remote opportunity for candidates located in Missouri or Arkansas. Occasional in-person attendance may be required.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Senior DME Billing Specialist will play a critical role in managing durable medical equipment (DME) claims, resolving complex billing issues, and improving revenue cycle performance. This position will serve as a key resource for Missouri Medicaid billing, including MO HealthNet, managed care plans, and applicable waiver programs. RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage DME claims submission, corrections, rebilling, appeals, and payer follow-up, with a primary focus on MO HealthNet and Missouri Medicaid managed care programs.

• Review outstanding accounts receivable, investigate denials and underpayments, and implement solutions to improve collections and reduce aging balances.

• Apply payer-specific billing requirements, including HCPCS codes, modifiers, authorizations, medical necessity documentation, and timely filing guidelines.

• Verify patient eligibility, insurance enrollment, coordination of benefits, and appropriate payer responsibility while reviewing EOBs, remittance advice, and claim statuses.

• Collaborate with intake, authorization, documentation, and customer service teams to resolve payment barriers and ensure accurate, timely reimbursement.

• Serve as a knowledgeable resource for complex Missouri DME billing questions, monitor payer policy changes, maintain accurate billing records, and identify opportunities for process improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Required: Hands-on experience with Missouri Medicaid DME billing, including MO HealthNet fee-for-service, managed care plans, and applicable waiver programs.

• Strong knowledge of DME billing, accounts receivable, claims resolution, appeals, HCPCS coding, payer requirements, and revenue cycle processes.

• Familiarity with Missouri Medicaid programs such as Home State Health, Show Me Healthy Kids, Healthy Blue, and UnitedHealthcare Community Plan is highly desirable.

• Brightree experience is strongly preferred, along with familiarity with commercial insurance carriers such as Blue Cross and Blue Shield, UnitedHealthcare, Aetna, and Cigna; experience billing enteral nutrition, feeding supplies, incontinence products, or urinary catheters is a plus.

• Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills, with a proactive approach to managing priorities, collaborating with colleagues, and working independently in a remote environment.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

This position offers competitive compensation of $23-$26 per hour, depending on relevant experience and qualifications. Exceptional candidates with advanced Missouri Medicaid DME billing expertise, Brightree proficiency, and commercial insurance experience may be considered for additional compensation.
