Oxford Solutions is working with an engineering consulting firm seeking a Senior Electrical Designer for a contract-to-hire opportunity. This onsite role is ideal for a seasoned electrical design professional with experience in consulting engineering or industrial environments who can independently develop detailed electrical design packages for complex projects.
Responsibilities
Develop and revise detailed electrical design drawings and construction documents
Prepare above-ground and underground electrical plans (A/G and U/G)
Create conduit layouts, cable schedules, and cable tray designs
Produce wiring schematics, one-line diagrams, and loop drawings
Design electrical panels and prepare instrument installation details
Incorporate grounding and lighting systems into overall design packages
Ensure compliance with NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code) and applicable industry standards
Coordinate with engineers and multidisciplinary teams to support project execution
Utilize 3D CAD tools to develop and model electrical systems
Qualifications
Associate’s Degree from a trade school or accredited college
10-15 years of drafting and electrical design experience
Strong working knowledge of electrical plans, schematics, and installation details
Experience with at least one CADD platform; 3D CAD proficiency required
Solid understanding of grounding, lighting, conduit systems, and cable management
Background in consulting engineering or industrial product environments preferred
Ability to work onsite and collaborate closely with project teams
