Watchfire Signs is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design and development of electronics for LED displays, scoreboards, and related systems. This role is a key technical contributor responsible for delivering robust, manufacturable hardware solutions from concept through production.
You will work across hardware, firmware, manufacturing, and supply chain teams while driving high-impact product development.
Responsibilities
Design and develop electronic systems including digital, firmware, and power circuits
Own schematic development, component selection, and PCB design reviews
Lead hardware development from concept through validation and production release
Troubleshoot complex system and board-level issues; drive root cause analysis
Collaborate with software, mechanical, and manufacturing teams on product development
Support new product introduction (NPI), pilot builds, and production ramp
Work with suppliers and contract manufacturers to improve cost, quality, and yield
Evaluate and implement component changes related to supply chain or obsolescence
Create and maintain engineering documentation (schematics, BOMs, test plans)
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
7+ years of hardware design experience in a product development environment
Strong background in digital design
Ability to write embedded firmware for microcontrollers and FPGAs
Experience with PCB design tools (Altium preferred)
Hands-on experience with lab equipment and hardware debugging
Proven ability to solve complex technical problems and deliver results
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Preferred Experience
LED display systems, outdoor electronics, or high-reliability products
Embedded systems and hardware/firmware integration
Experience working with global supply chains
