Job Description

Quality Engineering and Surveying, LLC is looking to add a Water Resources Engineer to its team of professionals. The Water Resources Engineer plays a vital role in QES's mission to deliver high-quality engineering, surveying, program management, and landscape architecture services every day and every time.The Water Resources Engineer is responsible for the planning, design, analysis, and permitting of water resources and stormwater management projects from concept through construction. This role focuses on hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, drainage design, floodplain management, and water quality solutions. The Water Resources Engineer collaborates with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and regulatory agencies to ensure project success while protecting natural resources and community interests while ensuring regulatory compliance, sustainability, and technical excellence consistent with QES's core values. QualificationsBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field with an emphasis in water resources.EIT (Engineer-in-Training) certification required; PE (Professional Engineer) license preferred or in progress.3-5 years of experience in water resources engineering, with project experience in site development, infrastructure, or municipal work strongly preferred.Experience in hydrology and hydraulics, stormwater management, drainage design, floodplain analysis, or municipal water resources projects strongly preferred.Familiarity with FEMA floodplain requirements and permitting processes is a plus.Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and water resources modeling software (e.g., HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM, HydroCAD, or similar).Knowledge of local, state, and federal environmental and water-related regulations.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.High attention-to-detail and commitment to technical accuracy.Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.Excellent communication and teamwork abilities (written and verbal). Physical Requirements Normal working conditions to include sitting, standing, kneeling and extensive keyboard usage.
