Position Details:

Salary Range: $108,307.00 - $139,283.00 Annually + Excellent Benefits

• Three market‑based compensation range adjustments (January 2027, July 2027, July 2028)
• Cost‑of‑living increases of 3% in July 2027 and 3% in July 2028
• Annual performance reviews with increases of up to 5%
• Generally, salary placement is at the beginning of the salary range.
• Advanced placement may be granted depending on related education and experience.

Status: Full‑time, Regular

Schedule: 9/80 work schedule with alternating Monday or Friday off

Minimum Qualifications:

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:

Education/Training:

• Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in engineering or architecture with specialized course work related to area of assignment.

Experience:

• Four years of professional engineering experience related to area of assignment including one year of administrative and/or lead supervisory responsibility.

License or Certificate:

• Possession of registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of California
• Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid driver's license.

Senior Engineer

• Lead Major CIP Projects - You excel at guiding complex capital improvement projects from concept through construction. Delivering high-quality, reliable water infrastructure that supports long-term system performance.
• Own Your Projects - You proactively manage multiple projects, keep timelines on track, and deliver results with independence and confidence.
• Hydraulic Modeling Proficiency - You have proven experience developing, calibrating, and maintaining hydraulic models that support system planning, operational analysis, and long-term infrastructure design.
• Technical Precision - You bring a sharp eye for detail, reviewing engineering plans and technical submittals for accuracy, compliance, and constructability.
• Regulatory Knowledge - You''re familiar with applicable regulations, codes, policies, and permitting requirements and help ensure compliance.
• Council Reporting and Communication - Demonstrated experience preparing staff reports, agenda materials, and PowerPoint presentations for City Council meetings, translating complex technical issues into concise and actionable information for decision-makers.
