Responsibilities

• Administer and engineer F5 BIG-IP platforms in physical, virtual, and cloud environments, ensuring secure and reliable application delivery.
• Design, configure, and optimize load balancing solutions using VIPs, pools, monitors, persistence profiles, and iRules.
• Act as a senior escalation point for complex incidents, outages, and performance troubleshooting.
• Perform platform upgrades, patching, vulnerability management, and capacity planning.
• Manage SSL/TLS certificates, renewals, and associated security configurations.
• Collaborate closely with application, security, and infrastructure teams to support onboarding and maintain high system availability.
• Implement and support F5 solutions in AWS and/or Azure environments.
• Develop and maintain operational documentation, runbooks, and configuration standards.
• Lead and contribute to continuous improvement and platform modernization initiatives.

Required Skills and Experience

• 5+ years of hands-on F5 BIG-IP administration and engineering in enterprise production settings.
• Advanced expertise in BIG-IP LTM, VIPs, pools, persistence, monitors, and performance tuning.
• Proficient in iRules design, development, and complex troubleshooting.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, load balancing algorithms, and traffic management.
• Experience designing and supporting high-availability and disaster recovery solutions.
• Demonstrated ability to provide technical guidance, collaborate across teams, and resolve complex production issues.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with F5 deployments in AWS and/or Azure.
• Familiarity with application resiliency strategies such as blue/green and canary deployments.
• Integration of F5 with security technologies like WAFs, firewalls, and zero-trust architectures.
• Automation skills using Ansible, Python, Bash, REST APIs, Infrastructure as Code, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Relevant F5 certifications (F5-CTS or similar).
