    Job Description

Amazon Leo is building the next generation of satellite broadband connectivity, and we are looking for a talented Senior Financial Analyst to join our FP&A team. This is a unique opportunity to work in a high-growth, start-up environment within Amazon, supporting P&L management reporting and financial commentary for one of the company"s most ambitious initiatives.

In this role, you will own end-to-end P&L management reporting for Amazon Leo, driving clarity and accountability across MEC (Month End Close), QEC (Quarter End Close), and Guidance/Yearly Operating Plan cycles. You will partner closely with finance and business leaders to ensure accurate, timely, and insightful financial storytelling that enables data-driven decisions. You will also play a key role in exploring and implementing AI-driven solutions to enhance forecasting accuracy and streamline analytical processes.

    Key job responsibilities

    • Own end-to-end P&L management reporting for Amazon Leo, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial results to senior leadership

    • Facilitate leadership review meetings by preparing comprehensive financial analyses, coordinating stakeholder input, and delivering accurate financial storytelling that supports strategic business decisions across product lines
    • Investigate and implement AI-driven solutions to enhance financial reporting accuracy, streamline analytical processes, and identify opportunities for operational efficiency
    • Document and continuously improve P&L reporting and commentary workflows, identifying gaps, proposing solutions, and ensuring institutional knowledge is captured

    A day in the life

As a Senior Financial Analyst on our Leo FP&A team, you"ll be at the intersection of financial strategy and operational excellence. Your day might include facilitating leadership review meetings where you present financial insights that influence decisions, coordinating MEC commentary collection across finance owners, and reconciling results against prior guidance to surface the key stories for leadership.

You"ll collaborate with cross-functional finance partners to refine forecasts, drive clarity around commentary ownership and scope, and explore how AI tools can streamline our reporting processes and uncover deeper business insights. Your work directly impacts how leadership understands the financial health and opportunities within our Leo business.

    About Company

At Amazon, we don’t wait for the next big idea to present itself. We envision the shape of impossible things and then we boldly make them reality. So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

    It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

    Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
