We're currently seeking a Senior Financial Analyst for our corporate office.
Job Overview: The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for providing advanced financial analysis, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic decision support for E&S Ring Management Corporation. This position plays a key role in the preparation and interpretation of financial information used by executive leadership to make informed business decisions.
The Senior Financial Analyst leads company-wide budgeting initiatives, develops financial models and reporting tools, supports tax and regulatory compliance, performs operational and financial analyses, and continually identifies opportunities to improve financial reporting processes and efficiencies. This role partners with Accounting, Property Operations, Construction, Ownership, and Executive Management on a variety of strategic initiatives and special projects.
The Senior Financial Analyst is expected to promote E&S Ring's Mission Statement while ensuring compliance with company policies, financial controls, and accounting standards.
Essential Responsibilities:
o Prepare, review, and analyze monthly financial statements and reporting packages.
o Manage month-end close activities including journal entries, reconciliations, asset management, and financial statement preparation.
o Review general ledger activity to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data.
o Prepare reports for executive management, lenders, and ownership.
o Analyze financial performance and identify significant variances and trends.
o Serve as the company lead for the annual budgeting process.
o Develop and maintain budgeting calendars and project timelines.
o Coordinate budget preparation across departments and properties.
o Review submitted budgets for completeness, consistency, and accuracy.
o Maintain budgeting models and troubleshoot budgeting system issues.
o Prepare monthly forecasts and long-range financial projections.
o Present financial analyses and recommendations to executive leadership.
o Perform financial modeling, forecasting, benchmarking, and historical trend analysis.
o Prepare cash flow analyses, weekly cash reports, and monthly cash projections.
o Develop pro forma financial models for acquisitions, dispositions, refinancing, and capital projects.
o Analyze operating performance and recommend opportunities to improve profitability.
o Calculate Quarterly NOI Bonus metrics and other financial performance measurements.
o Review monthly property financial statements and identify performance trends.
o Oversee job costing and construction accounting within Yardi Voyager.
o Monitor construction expenditures and prepare financial reporting related to capital projects.
o Assist with reserve replacement analyses and lender reporting requirements.
o Assist with quarterly, annual, and year-end tax reporting and ownership tax projections.
o Prepare or coordinate required governmental filings including federal, state, county, and municipal reporting.
o Support property tax analyses and forecasting.
o Assist during audits and provide requested financial documentation.
o Design, develop, and maintain financial reporting tools using Excel, Yardi, and other reporting platforms.
o Work with consultants and internal IT staff to automate financial reporting processes.
o Create dashboards, charts, graphs, and executive reporting packages.
o Evaluate current financial processes and recommend efficiencies and process improvements.
o Maintain chart of accounts, reporting structures, and account mapping as assigned.
o Support acquisitions, dispositions, refinancing, and other strategic initiatives through financial analysis.
o Review loan documents, insurance policies, management agreements, contracts, and other financial documents.
o Prepare ad hoc analyses requested by Ownership, the President, Controller, Assistant Controller, or executive leadership.
o Participate in cross-functional projects and perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Experience/Training/Education:
o Bachelor's degree in business, Accounting, Mathematics, Economics, or a similar field.
o Five or more years of progressive accounting or financial analysis experience.
o Strong understanding of GAAP and financial statement preparation.
o Experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and variance analysis.
o Experience within commercial real estate or property management is strongly preferred.
o Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including PivotTables, Power Query, advanced formulas, financial modeling, and data analysis.
o Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
o Experience with Yardi Voyager required.
o Experience with Business Intelligence or reporting tools is preferred.
