Senior Financial Analyst (Temporary-to-Hire)

Location: Downtown Los Angeles, CA

Employment Type: Contract to Hire

Compensation: $50.00 - $60.00 per hour

A well-established non-profit organization in Downtown Los Angeles is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst on a temporary-to-hire basis. This role will support organizational leadership by providing financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting that helps drive strategic decision-making and mission-focused initiatives. The ideal candidate will combine strong analytical skills with a passion for supporting a purpose-driven organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports

  • Develop and maintain budgets, forecasts, and financial models

  • Analyze program, grant, and departmental spending trends

  • Partner with leadership and department managers to monitor budget performance

  • Prepare variance analyses and provide recommendations to improve financial outcomes

  • Assist with grant reporting and compliance requirements

  • Support month-end and year-end close processes

  • Evaluate financial performance and identify opportunities for cost savings and operational efficiencies

  • Create dashboards, KPI reporting, and executive-level presentations

  • Assist with annual audits and preparation of supporting schedules

  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and non-profit accounting requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field

  • 5+ years of financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting experience

  • Prior experience within a non-profit organization strongly preferred

  • Experience analyzing grants, restricted funds, and program budgets preferred

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and financial modeling

  • Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools

  • Ability to present financial information to both finance and non-finance stakeholders

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA, CPA, CFA, or other relevant certification is a plus

  • Experience supporting annual audits and grant compliance reporting

  • Familiarity with non-profit accounting software and donor/grant management systems

Pay Details: $50.00 to $60.00 per hour
