Senior Financial Analyst

Maven Group is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to build the financial foundation of a federal client's IT modernization. You will produce the cost baselines, unit costs, savings assumptions, and affordability analysis that let leaders compare one consolidation option against another on a common basis, and later confirm whether projected savings actually materialized. Your work feeds directly into the funding analysis behind every decision.

The ideal candidate combines federal IT cost analysis with Technology Business Management concepts, and has the integrity to build a baseline from incomplete source data while stating the gaps plainly rather than filling them.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce cost baselines, funding analyses, unit costs, savings assumptions, and affordability constraints for consolidation candidates and the services within them.
• Populate and maintain the cost, contract, license, and budget fields of the enterprise service inventory.
• Establish the financial measurement baseline for each approved initiative so realized outcomes can be compared against it.
• Reconcile duplicate, conflicting, or incomplete financial information across components, and document any conflict that cannot be resolved.
• Maintain financial source traceability records, each with a source, owner, date, and confidence level.
• Prepare financial current-state analysis and support the variance analysis that compares realized results with the original projection.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and at least 4 years of relevant professional experience.
• IT cost analysis, including building cost baselines from source financial records.
• Documenting assumptions in a form another analyst can follow.
• Familiarity with Technology Business Management concepts.
• Must be able to successfully complete a federal background investigation and obtain and maintain the government credentials required for on-site client access.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing unit costs for shared IT services.
• Familiarity with federal budget structures and funding sources.
• Experience supporting HHS or its operating divisions (such as CMS, CDC, FDA, or NIH) or other federal health and research agencies.
• Active federal credentials or a current Public Trust determination; candidates able to start quickly are strongly encouraged to apply.

Work Location and Schedule

Hybrid. This role supports a federal client in the Washington, DC metropolitan area (Maryland), with on-site work two to three days per week and local travel among client sites as needed. 

Compensation

The anticipated salary range for this Senior Consultant position is 105,000–130,000. This range represents Maven Group's good faith estimate at the time of posting and is not a guarantee of compensation.

Final compensation will be determined based on factors including relevant experience, skills, education, certifications, internal equity, market conditions, and geographic location. For positions supporting federal contracts, compensation may also be subject to applicable labor category requirements, contract terms, funding, and other contract-specific provisions. As a result, actual compensation may vary from the posted salary range.
