Senior Fire Alarm Technician Key Responsibilities:
- Technical aptitude
- Computer Literate
- Able to climb ladders
- Able to work in a lift (no fear of heights)
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must provide basic hand tools (screwdrivers, pliers, strippers, lineman pliers, tape measure)
- Ability to work alone or with others
- Able to read & follow blueprints/drawings
- Ability to decipher the resistor color code
- Ability to read, use and understand a multi-meter
- Ability to use a telephone butt-set
- Ability to use a tone generator
- Device replacement skills (reprogramming a new device)
- Ability to disable most fire alarm panel NAC circuits
- Advanced Troubleshooting Skills (ability to chase a fault using voltage instead of resistance)
- Ability to troubleshoot a conventional alarm system
- Ability to layout a system add for estimating purposes
- Fiscally responsible for their projects
- Ability to program advanced fire alarm systems (network, voice, extended)
- Ability to troubleshoot voice circuitry
- Ability to troubleshoot networked systems
- NICET II or III in Fire Alarm preferred but not required
- Factory Trained on any Fire Alarm system
Requirements:
- Construction background
- Ability to travel
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must have a high school diploma or GED
- Must be physically fit to do the work of the trade
- Must have other than dishonorable discharge from the military (if applicable)
- Must pass an appropriate drug test
- Candidates must possess and maintain a valid driver's license. The ability to drive to job sites / work locations may be a requirement of this position. A motor vehicle record (MVR) check will be conducted as part of the hiring process
