Senior Front-End Web Developer (React / Next.js / Sanity)

Location: First preference is onsite at one of the 4 major Schwab locations: Austin, TX, Dallas, TX, Denver, CO or Phoenix, AZ
Location: REMOTE is also an option for a rockstar candidate

Must Haves: React - NextJS Development - Typescript - Automation Testing Experience (Modern Worfklow)

Nice to Haves: Sanity - CICD - GitHub Workflow experience
Interview Process: 1-2 rounds (one will be technical and 1 will be with HM for team fit)

About the Role
We’re looking for a Senior Front-End Web Developer to design, build, and scale our web platform using React, Next.js, and Sanity. You’ll own complex front-end features from design through deployment, set the bar for code quality and testing, and mentor other developers. This role works closely with product, design, and an extended remote team in a fast-paced environment that adopts new technologies and techniques.

What You’ll Do

• Design, build, and ship web applications using React, Next.js, and TypeScript in a component-based architecture
• Build content-driven experiences powered by Sanity, including schema design, content modeling, and Studio customization
• Own features end to end: technical design, development, code review, integration, testing, deployment, and monitoring
• Write and maintain automated unit, integration, and end-to-end tests, and promote a strong testing culture
• Improve our GitHub workflow: pull requests, code review, and Actions-based automation
• Turn product requirements into scalable solutions with product, design, and stakeholders
• Improve performance, accessibility, SEO, and maintainability across the platform
• Identify technical debt and drive practical improvements
• Mentor developers and provide technical leadership within the team

• 10 years of professional front-end or web development experience
• Deep expertise in React and Next.js (App Router, SSR/SSG/ISR, API routes)
• Hands-on experience with Sanity (schemas, GROQ, Studio customization)
• Strong TypeScript and JavaScript skills in production codebases
• Strong HTML and CSS fundamentals, including SCSS/Sass or Less, and responsive frameworks such as Bootstrap
• Experience with component-based JavaScript development, including Web Components and jQuery
• Experience with modern test tooling (e.g., Jest, Vitest, React Testing Library, Playwright, or Cypress)
• Experience with GitHub workflows: pull requests, code review, and GitHub Actions
• Knowledge of browser performance and web accessibility standards
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams
• Experience mentoring or technically leading developers
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills; able to work independently and with a remote team

• Experience with headless CMS architecture and content modeling beyond Sanity
• CI/CD experience, including automated builds, deployments, and preview environments
• Experience with Vercel or similar hosting platforms
• Background in SaaS or multi-tenant platforms
• Degree in Computer Science, MIS, or a related field
