For the search, it would be helpful to prioritize candidates with a strong hands-on accounting background, particularly:

• Public accounting experience
• Life sciences, biotech, medical device, or pharma experience
• Recent hands-on Oracle Fusion experience
• Strong month-end close experience
• Accrual preparation and related journal entry processing
• Prepaid expense and amortization schedule preparation, including related journal entries
• Bank reconciliations
• Balance sheet/general ledger account reconciliations and resolving reconciling items
• Experience preparing and posting routine and adjusting journal entries
• Ability to work independently, pick up processes quickly, and manage day-to-day accounting responsibilities with limited direction
• Someone who is motivated, proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable stepping into a fast-paced environment

Since this person will be helping with the day-to-day accounting work while the team is focused on the system implementation, we really need someone who can come in, get up to speed fairly quickly, and independently handle a lot of the core accounting and close activities.

Vertical Description:
The Senior GL Accountant is responsible for managing core financial records; assisting in certain month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes; preparing complex journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations; and ensuring all business transactions follow US GAAP.
Requirements:
Key Responsibilities Perform recurring accounting close activities with accountability for timely, accurate results. Help coordinate and oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process. Support the month-end close processes, including the preparing and recording of various journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations. Assist in providing necessary support for audits. Partner effectively with team members and departments. Assist with other projects and activities as directed. Qualifications and Experience 3 to 5 years of progressive accounting experience. Strong knowledge of accounting principles. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Proficiency in Oracle Fusion Cloud preferable but not required. Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data and translate insights into actionable improvements. Experience partnering with outsourced providers and external auditors. Ability to work autonomously, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment. Strong interest in process improvement, automation, machine learning, and analytics. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance CPA and/or MBA preferred
