    NAVEX is seeking a Senior General Ledger Accountant to join our high performing Accounting team. You will play a key role in our financial reporting process to ensure accurate and timely presentation of balance sheet and income statement activity. This position provides the opportunity to make an immediate impact at a growing company and is responsible for supporting our Accounting team in key activities such as month-end close, year-end reporting and audits, as well as process improvements.     What you'll do:

    Own assigned areas of the general ledger, including preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules in accordance with internal control and audit standardsSupport the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes by completing assigned responsibilities accurately and on schedule and proactively resolving outstanding itemsAnalyze and record recurring and nonroutine transactions, including debt, fixed assets, intercompany activity, and foreign currency impactsPerform detailed analysis of balance sheet and income statement accounts, investigate unusual or unexpected activity, and clearly document conclusionsSupport NAVEX's technical accounting activities by researching US GAAP guidance, preparing accounting analyses and memos, and assisting with implementation of new accounting standardsExecute key internal controls, maintain appropriate supporting documentation, and identify opportunities to strengthen the control environmentCoordinate with external auditors by preparing requested documentation, responding to inquiries, and helping drive the audit process to timely completionIdentify and implement opportunities to improve accounting processes, increase consistency, reduce manual work, and enhance the efficiency of our close processPartner cross-functionally with Finance, Accounts Payable, Procurement, Tax, and Facilities and other teams to achieve business goalsProvide guidance and informal mentorship to other accounting team members while serving as a reliable resource on US GAAP and NAVEX accounting policiesUse available technology, including automation and AI-enabled tools, responsibly to improve the efficiency, consistency, and quality of accounting processes

    What you'll bring:

    A bachelor's degree in Accounting5+ years of experience in public accounting or industry (SaaS or software company preferred)Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and month-end close proceduresCertified Public Accountant (CPA) license or CPA eligible is a plusAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience working with a large ERP system; NetSuite experience is preferredDemonstrated ability to own accounting processes from start to finish, manage competing priorities, and consistently meet deadlinesAn intellectual curiosity that seeks opportunities to learn and improveExceptional problem solving, analytical and critical thinking skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain accounting matters clearly and collaborate across departments.Culture Agility.
