Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA), Test Technology Division is seeking a technically versatile and highly motivated professional with a strong background in Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology, Geophysics, Geologic Engineering, or Mining Engineering. We are looking for an experienced researcher to lead and manage projects supporting weapon effects testing and other geotechnical and geophysical initiatives critical to U.S. government missions.

What You'll Do as a Senior Geotechnical Engineer
Required Qualifications
Ability to obtain a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance.
Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical Engineering (Civil), Geologic Engineering, Engineering Geology, Geophysics, Mining Engineering, or a closely related field.
Broad technical expertise with advanced knowledge in:
Data processing and analysis
Engineering mathematics
Mechanics of materials
Statics and dynamics
Computer programming
Rock and soil mechanics
Earth material behavior
Laboratory testing methods
Exceptional technical writing, communication, and presentation skills, with a demonstrated ability to mentor and develop junior staff.
Proven ability to work effectively both independently and as a technical leader within multidisciplinary teams.
Strong interpersonal skills with a positive, self-motivated approach and a commitment to mentoring and developing others.
Demonstrated project management experience, including planning, execution, coordination, and oversight of technical projects. Experience mentoring junior engineers and scientists is highly desirable.
Valid driver's license, current vehicle registration, and proof of auto insurance, with the ability to qualify for coverage under ARA's corporate auto insurance policy.
