    Position: Senior Geotechnical Engineer, P.E.

    Location: Fort Wayne, Indiana

    Duration: Full-Time - On site

    Description

    The client is seeking an experienced Senior Geotechnical Engineer, P.E. to join a growing geotechnical and construction-materials testing practice in Fort Wayne, Indiana. This role requires a strong technical leader who can manage a team, oversee client projects, and ensure high-quality deliverables across the Midwest.

    This is a hands-on leadership role in a fast-paced environment where efficiency, technical accuracy, and direct communication are valued. The position offers the opportunity to lead complex projects while mentoring the next generation of engineers.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Lead and manage a team of geotechnical engineers, geologists, and materials testing professionals.

    Oversee proposal development, client communication, and overall project execution.

    Review lab and field data, prepare, and approve geotechnical reports.

    Provide mentorship and professional development for junior engineers.

    Perform occasional field visits to assess site conditions.

    Maintain technical accuracy, quality control, and client satisfaction.

    Oversee daily logs, field reports, and compliance with project standards.

    Must-Have Qualifications:

    Bachelors or Masters degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering.

    Active P.E. license (any U.S. state).

    510+ years of geotechnical engineering and construction-materials testing experience.

    Proven leadership managing engineers, geologists, and technicians.

    Strong background in proposal writing, client relations, and report preparation.

    Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    Willingness to relocate to Fort Wayne, IN.

    Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

    P.E. license in IN, MI, OH, or IL.

    Regional experience in the Midwest.

    Experience working with municipalities, contractors, architects, and excavators.

    Prior involvement in hiring and mentoring junior engineers.
