Senior Geotechnical Engineer / Project Manager

An established engineering consulting firm is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer / Senior Project Manager to lead projects and support its growing Connecticut practice. This role combines technical oversight, client development, and staff mentoring across infrastructure, transportation, waterfront, energy, and flood protection projects. The position offers a hybrid schedule with a minimum of two days per week in the Glastonbury office.

Responsibilities

• Lead geotechnical and geostructural assignments, overseeing technical quality, budgets, schedules, and client relationships.

• Prepare proposals, develop new business, and collaborate with contractors, public agencies, and multidisciplinary design teams on CTDOT and other infrastructure projects.

• Mentor junior engineers, provide technical guidance, and support office and regional growth planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering and 12+ years of relevant experience; master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering preferred.

• Active Professional Engineer license, with the ability to obtain Connecticut licensure within one year, plus experience supporting CTDOT and infrastructure projects.

• Strong project management, communication, and client relationship skills; experience collaborating across engineering disciplines, willingness to travel for short-term assignments, and a valid driver’s license.

This job is Hybrid Remote.

Pay Range: Salary $140,000.00 to $180,000.00
