Senior GK POS Technical Lead

Job Description

We are seeking a Senior GK POS Technical Lead with strong expertise in Retail/QSR Point-of-Sale systems and store operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with GK POS / GK Retail Store Commerce, Java-based technologies, POS integrations, and production support. This role requires strong technical leadership, troubleshooting, stakeholder management, and experience leading mission-critical retail transformation and production support initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead onsite and offshore support and development teams.
• Provide technical leadership for GK POS applications and retail store systems.
• Lead L3 production support and resolve complex application and system issues.
• Drive incident management, major incident handling, root cause analysis, and problem management.
• Lead release management, defect triage, and production issue resolution.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues using application logs, system diagnostics, and monitoring tools.
• Coordinate with business teams, vendors, architects, and engineering teams.
• Manage escalations and provide clear communication during critical incidents.
• Drive SLA adherence, operational excellence, RCA quality, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support GK POS implementations, upgrades, modernization programs, and transformation initiatives.
• Provide technical guidance on POS architecture, transaction processing, payments, returns, promotions, receipts, and recovery workflows.
• Support integrations between POS systems and ERP, OMS, payment gateways, eCommerce platforms, and other enterprise applications.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of experience with Retail/QSR POS systems and store operations.
• Strong experience with GK POS / GK Retail Store Commerce.
• Strong GK POS technical and functional expertise.
• Hands-on experience with Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, REST APIs, Microservices, and SQL.
• Deep understanding of POS architecture and transaction processing.
• Strong knowledge of payments, returns, promotions, receipts, and recovery workflows.
• Experience with POS integrations including ERP, OMS, payment gateways, and eCommerce platforms.
• Strong production support experience, including:
  • Incident Management
  • Major Incident Handling
  • Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
  • Problem Management
  • Release Management
  • Defect Triage
• Strong troubleshooting and system diagnostic skills.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience working with client-facing teams and business stakeholders.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with GK POS implementations, upgrades, and modernization programs.
• Knowledge of omnichannel retail operations.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud environments.
• Exposure to monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana, Dynatrace, Splunk, and CloudWatch.
• Experience with middleware, event-driven architecture, and API integrations.
• Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies and functional architecture.

Good to Have

• Kubernetes and Docker experience.
• Experience supporting containerized applications.
• Knowledge of DevOps and CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, and GitHub Actions.
• Experience with ServiceNow, Jira, and Confluence.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be a strong GK POS Technical Lead with deep Retail/QSR domain expertise, hands-on Java development experience, proven production support leadership, and a strong understanding of POS integrations and architecture. The candidate should have exposure to cloud technologies, excellent stakeholder management skills, and the ability to lead mission-critical retail support and transformation programs.
