PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

The Senior Sales Manager maximizes revenue by establishing the best sales strategies that fit into the company's management strategies and business environment and by performing various sales duties. They must enhance the image of the hotel and increase customer loyalty through effective communication and management of, clients and business connections, while pursuing customer satisfaction through the organic cooperative relationship with the service department. Furthermore, the Senior Sales Manager must encourage teamwork and create a cooperative team culture.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATES WILL HAVE:

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in Hotel Management or related field preferred.

EXPERIENCE: 5 years or more in hotel group sales role

QUALIFICATTIONS:

  • Preferred experience selling a full-service luxury hotel with extensive meeting and event space.
  • Demonstrated success exceeding group revenue goals, including booking $2M+ in annual group business.
  • Established network of meeting planners, third-party agencies, corporate buyers, and association clients in key markets.
  • Proven ability to identify new business opportunities, expand market share, and cultivate long-term client relationships through proactive prospecting.
  • Previous event planning experience preferred.
  • Prior participation in industry trade shows, sales missions, and hospitality networking events.
  • Active involvement in hospitality industry organizations and professional certifications or accreditations preferred.
  • Multilingual communication skills to support international business are a plus.

Sales Leadership & Business Acumen

  • Thorough understanding of hotel operations, revenue generation, profit structure, budgeting, and financial performance.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute strategic sales plans and business development initiatives that achieve or exceed revenue objectives.
  • Skilled in analyzing production reports, forecasting, market trends, pace reports, and competitive intelligence to maximize revenue opportunities.
  • Experience establishing, managing, and administering departmental budgets.
  • Experience leading sales coordinators or mentoring junior sales managers is preferred.

Technical Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of hotel sales systems; experience with Opera PMS and Delphi is preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of hotel contracts, event agreements, and negotiation best practices.
