Healthcare Architecture • Medical Planning • Acute-Care Hospitals
The Opportunity
MHTN is seeking an experienced architectural healthcare planner to take a leading role in the planning of a new, complex acute-care hospital currently in design.
This position is intended for a healthcare design professional with substantial experience in hospital programming, clinical and operational planning, stakeholder engagement, and the development of functional healthcare environments. You will work directly with healthcare executives, clinicians, administrators, architects, engineers, and design teams to translate clinical workflows, operational requirements, and long-term strategic objectives into thoughtful, functional, and adaptable healthcare environments.
Your primary focus will be hands-on healthcare planning and project work. As a senior member of MHTNs healthcare team, you will also have opportunities to mentor others, strengthen healthcare planning tools and standards, participate in selected pursuits, and influence the continued growth of the practice.
For an experienced healthcare planner who wants to remain closely engaged in meaningful project work while having substantial influence within a growing practice, this role offers an immediate opportunity to contribute at a high level.

Qualifications
Additional experience with acute-care hospitals, healthcare master planning, architectural licensure, executive-level presentations, design-build delivery, or healthcare credentials such as ACHA, EDAC, or LEED AP is valued but not required.
We recognize that experienced healthcare planners may bring different combinations of education, project experience, credentials, and expertise. We encourage qualified candidates to apply even if their background does not align with every preferred qualification.
Why MHTN
This role offers the opportunity to step directly into a significant healthcare project rather than waiting for the right assignment to emerge. You will take a meaningful planning role on a new acute-care hospital currently in design, collaborating directly with healthcare clients, project leaders, and multidisciplinary design teams.
At MHTN, senior professionals remain closely connected to the work. You will have direct access to firm leadership and clients, meaningful influence over project planning decisions, and the opportunity to help strengthen the tools, knowledge, and capabilities of a growing healthcare practice.
You will also have opportunities to mentor other team members, contribute to selected client presentations and pursuits, and help shape the continued development of healthcare planning at MHTN without moving away from the project work that is central to this position.
Salt Lake City and Relocation Support
This position is based in the Salt Lake City, Utah area and follows MHTNs flexible hybrid work schedule, with the ability to work remotely up to two days per week. Because close collaboration with clients and project teams is an important part of this role, the successful candidate must live in or relocate to the Salt Lake City area.
MHTN recognizes that the right healthcare-planning candidate may be located elsewhere in the country. To support relocation, MHTN offers relocation assistance for eligible candidates, including a six-month cost-of-living stipend, as well as a signing bonus.
