Job Overview
We are seeking a Senior ISO Management Systems Analyst to maintain and continually improve an ISO-aligned Integrated Management System (IMS) within a complex industrial operation.
This role focuses on maintaining management system compliance, leading internal audits, coordinating corrective actions, and driving process improvements across multiple business functions. The ideal candidate has practical, hands-on experience with ISO-based management systems and can translate management system requirements into effective operational processes.
Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation, maintenance, and continual improvement of ISO-based management system processes, ensuring practical alignment to applicable standards and internal compliance requirements.
- Manage the Integrated Management System (IMS) governance cadence, including process performance monitoring, compliance obligations tracking, and coordinated improvement planning across business functions.
- Plan and lead internal IMS audits by defining audit scope, preparing checklists and schedules, interviewing stakeholders, and documenting objective evidence and findings.
- Coordinate external audit readiness by organizing required documentation and records, validating evidence packages, and driving timely closure of pre-audit and audit findings.
- Drive investigation and resolution of nonconformances by leading root cause analysis, defining corrective and preventive actions, and verifying effectiveness through follow-up reviews.
- Develop, revise, and control management system documentation (policies, procedures, work instructions, forms, and records) using disciplined document/record control and change management practices.
- Identify operational and compliance risks within management system processes, evaluate controls, and implement improvements that reduce recurrence and improve reliability.
- Build and deliver training and guidance that enables frontline and staff teams to understand IMS requirements, apply procedures correctly, and sustain audit-ready behaviors.
- Create clear performance dashboards and reporting (including Power BI outputs where applicable) to track audit results, corrective action status, and system health metrics for leadership review.
- Facilitate management system reviews by compiling inputs, summarizing trends, and documenting decisions, actions, and follow-through to strengthen system effectiveness.
Required Skills
- Hands-on experience implementing, maintaining, auditing, or continually improving formal ISO-based management systems in an industrial environment, with working knowledge of standards, compliance expectations, and management system principles.
- Experience maintaining and improving an Integrated Management System (IMS), including process ownership support, compliance activities, risk identification, and improvements spanning multiple functions.
- Experience leading internal audits and supporting external audits, including evidence collection, nonconformance identification, and evaluation of management system effectiveness.
- Proven ability to manage corrective actions end-to-end, including investigation, root cause analysis, action planning, tracking to closure, and effectiveness verification.
- Experience developing and maintaining management system policies, procedures, and document/record controls, including change control, approvals, revisions, and accurate compliance documentation.
- Strong communication, training, analytical, and process improvement skills with demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and guide teams on management system requirements.
- Proficiency using professional reporting tools (such as Power BI) to monitor performance and communicate trends and status.
- Minimum Experience/Education: Bachelor's degree with 6+ years of relevant quality/safety management systems experience, OR associate's degree with 8+ years, OR high school diploma/GED with 10+ years. Experience must include practical involvement in management systems within an industrial operation.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with ISO 9001 and ISO 55001 within an ISO-based management system or integrated framework.
- Background supporting management systems in mining, smelting, metals processing, chemical processing, or heavy manufacturing environments.
- Formal IMS Auditor Certification or comparable auditor training and demonstrated application in planning and executing management system audits.
