Senior IT Project Manager – Enterprise & Government Projects

Position Overview

Lead high-priority, large-scale IT initiatives within complex enterprise environments, managing multimillion-dollar budgets, multiple vendors, technical teams, and executive stakeholders. This role offers the opportunity to drive technology implementations, organizational initiatives, procurement efforts, and RFP-driven projects across Agile and traditional project delivery environments.

The ideal candidate brings extensive experience managing complex IT projects, coordinating multi-vendor deployments, and delivering successful outcomes in government or large enterprise environments.

What You'll Do / Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain project schedules, resource assignments, and budgets using project portfolio management tools.

• Monitor and control project progress, including cost, schedule, scope, resources, quality, and risks.

• Prepare project status updates and presentations for executives, managers, and project team members.

• Maintain clear and timely communication with project sponsors, stakeholders, technical teams, program managers, and management.

• Lead collaboration between technical and business teams, building consensus and securing stakeholder commitment.

• Manage project interfaces and coordination with other agencies.

• Ensure projects follow established methodologies and progress through the appropriate project lifecycle stages.

• Facilitate and manage change requests, ensuring appropriate approvals before changes to scope, schedule, or budget are implemented.

• Evaluate the impact of project changes on business benefits and ensure project documentation is updated.

• Review vendor contracts, monitor vendor deliverables, and ensure compliance with deliverable approval procedures.

• Coordinate stakeholders, clarify expectations, and ensure project deliverables are assigned, reviewed, and completed.

• Oversee technical teams working on system architecture and integration across SaaS solutions.

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience as a Project Manager.

• 8+ years of experience managing projects with budgets greater than $20 million.

• 8+ years of experience managing IT projects within large, complex enterprise environments.

• 8+ years of experience managing vendors and/or third-party solution providers.

• Demonstrated leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and organizational skills.

• Experience leading multiple concurrent projects and driving work to successful completion with minimal supervision.

• Experience managing diverse stakeholders and system/business owners across departments.

• Experience managing multi-vendor environments within a government environment.

• Experience providing project management services for IT projects involving Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) technology.

• Experience overseeing technical teams with system architecture and integration across SaaS solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

• PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or other relevant project management certification.

• Experience using project portfolio management systems and tools, such as Clarity.

• Previous experience working within state government, the Department of Corrections, or other public sector agencies.

• Candidates local to the Lansing, Michigan area (within one hour) are highly desired.
