Senior Java Developer (Hybrid)

We're hiring a Senior Java Developer to join our team in Columbia, SC. This role offers a hybrid schedule, with onsite work required 3 days a week

Work Authorization: U.S. citizens and Green Card holders only. Sponsorship is not available for this role; no C2C or third-party candidates. Candidates must be able to work on our W2.

Skills & Qualifications:

• 6 years of application development, systems testing or other job-related experience
• Senior-level Java enterprise development experience
• Experience with:
  • Spring, Spring Boot
  • Hibernate or comparable Java persistence frameworks
  • SQL and relational databases
  • Developing and consuming REST APIs and integrating applications with internal or external systems
  • Technical-debt remediation, framework and dependency upgrades
  • Automated testing and CI/CD
  • Production troubleshooting and secure coding practices
  • Translating business and compliance requirements into technical solutions
  • Modernizing large or long-lived Java enterprise applications
  • Designing, developing, testing, and supporting enterprise applications
  • Java development experience, including object-oriented design, reusable components, exception handling, and secure coding practices
  • Spring ecosystem, including Spring Framework and Spring Boot
  • Oracle databases and enterprise data-integration patterns
  • IBM WebSphere, Open Liberty, or comparable Java application-server environments

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, and support enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate, Oracle, Web Services, and REST-based technologies
• Work closely with business and compliance stakeholders to deliver enhancements and support a Compliance Notification System
• Automate critical business processes and regulatory communications
• Participate in application modernization, technical debt remediation, and framework upgrades
• Utilize AI-assisted development tools, such as GitHub Copilot to improve developer productivity and code quality

Education/Certifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or other job-related degree; OR
• 4 years of job-related work experience or 2 years of job-related experience plus an associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or other job-related degree

Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate for this position is an experienced Java developer with a strong background in enterprise application development, including expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate, and Oracle databases. They should have a proven ability to work with business and compliance stakeholders, automate business processes, and modernize applications. A candidate with a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, and the ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance, is preferred.

The hourly rate for this position is $57.35.
