Senior Java Developer

Global Financial Firm located in Rutherford, NJ has an immediate contract opportunity for an experienced Java Developer

• Pay Rate: $101.00 - $107.00 per hour, negotiable based upon years of experience
• Work Mode: Hybrid
• Location: Rutherford, NJ

Responsibilities:

• Manage multiple teams of professionals to accomplish established goals and conduct personnel duties for team members.
• Provide strategic influence and control over resources, budget management, and planning while monitoring end results.
• Utilize in-depth knowledge of concepts and procedures to resolve issues and ensure essential procedures are followed.
• Integrate in-depth knowledge of applications development with overall technology function to achieve established goals.
• Influence and negotiate with senior leaders across functions.
• Assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the company's reputation and safeguarding its clients and assets.
• Collaborate with the business/technical product owner and SMEs to perform detailed requirements analysis.
• Responsible for components design, construction, and unit testing of assigned components/modules.
• Perform technical review and resolve any technical challenges.
• Coordinate with customer stakeholders and bridge offshore communication.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in Java development.
• In-depth knowledge in building enterprise web applications.
• Strong leadership skills, excellent communication, time-management, planning, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Proficiency in Core Java, Java EE, Spring Boot, and Spring Microservices architecture and design patterns.
• Experience with multithreading, concurrency, JPA, Hibernate, and using Eclipse or IntelliJ.
• Knowledge of agentic system design, AI agent development, and orchestration & integration.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with React JS.
• Experience in the financial or banking sector, automated testing experience.
• Experience with AI Dev tools such as Copilot.
• Knowledge of Python, PySpark, and working in BigData environments is a plus.
• Knowledge of hardware and operating systems (Unix-based systems).
• Understanding of relational databases (Oracle).

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering or equivalent discipline.
• Master’s degree preferred.
