Position: Senior Laboratory Technician

Location: Headquarters - Moon Township, PA

Hours of work: Full-time position with hours generally Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Evening and extended work hours may be required occasionally as job duties demand.

Travel: up to 5% (air and/or automobile)

The Senior Laboratory Technician supports new product development under the direction of a technical supervisor. With minimal guidance and supervision, performs a variety of experiments and operates laboratory equipment and instruments. The incumbent will be responsible for strict adherence to company safety policies and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to)

• Conducts laboratory experiments and testing procedures under the direction of a technical supervisor. Accurately documents work and findings in lab notebooks.
• Responsible for the installation and operation of laboratory scale equipment used to develop new and improved activated carbons for laboratory and field use.

Qualifications

• Associate degree (A.A.), or equivalent from two-year college or technical school. (Chemistry or chemical engineering concentration OR equivalent experience)
• 0-2 years: Experience in operating lab instruments and equipment
• 0-2 years: Hands-on mechanical aptitude
• 0-2 years: Industrial R&D experience working in a lab
• Experience with activated carbon is preferred
