SYSTEMTEC is seeking a Senior Mainframe Developer for a remoteopportunity for candidates working EST hours.Candidate will enhance an established mainframe financial accounting platform by developing new composite account functionality and expanding existing applications. This role requires strong Enterprise COBOL, NaturalOne, and z/OS expertise, along with hands-on experience supporting complex financial processing, account balancing, and reconciliation in a regulated environment.
Required Qualifications of the Senior Mainframe Developer:

- 5+ years of Enterprise COBOL development experience in a z/OS environment.
- 5+ years of experience with NaturalOne, including application development, debugging, and deployment.
- 5+ years of JCL development and production support experience.
- 3+ years of experience developing or supporting financial/accounting systems involving double-entry posting, balance and accrual maintenance, value dating, reconciliation, and month-end close.
- 3+ years of experience working with Adabas and VSAM.
- 3+ years of experience analyzing legacy applications and tracing undocumented business logic through copybooks, program dependencies, and batch job streams.
- Strong knowledge of Natural programming, including subprograms, maps, DDMs, descriptors, and Adabas file structures.
- Experience with mainframe batch processing, TSO/ISPF, JCL procedures, GDGs, utilities, and restart/recovery processes.
Preferred Skills/Experience of the Senior Mainframe Developer:
- Experience with treasury applications, cash management, pooled accounts, balance sweeps, or related financial systems.
- Familiarity with CA-7 scheduling and batch operations.
- Experience with REXX, Python, or Java.
Responsibilities of the Senior Mainframe Developer:
- Analyze existing account master, transaction posting, and balance maintenance programs to determine how new composite account functionality can be incorporated.
- Design, develop, and implement new account capabilities, including account setup and closure, participant relationships, fund transfers, sweep processing, allocation, interest calculations, and balance reconciliation.
- Modify existing COBOL programs, JCL, and batch processing routines to support new functionality while maintaining established processing schedules.
- Integrate new account activity into audit trails, exception reporting, and financial reconciliation controls in collaboration with accounting stakeholders.
- Develop and execute test data, unit testing, regression testing, and production comparison activities to validate processing accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
- Support implementation, account conversion, and initial production processing while maintaining technical documentation, system workflows, and operational procedures.
Work Location: 100% remote. EST hours.
