Role Definition

• Manages the financial record keeping, reporting, tax filing and other accounting functions for the organization.

Responsibilities

• Producing accurate and timely financial reports, for internal and external use, in accordance with GAAP and in compliance with section 404 of Sarbanes-Oxley Act.
• Preparing or leading preparation of reports which summarize and forecast business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings, based on past, present and expected operations.
• Ensuring the accounting policies and practices of the organization are followed; working closely with internal auditors, public accountants, federal tax examiners, and other financial professionals ensuring that practices are in line with the overall goals of the organization.
• Overseeing and evaluating the activities of the accounting staff, and providing for their professional development; analyzing and solving accounting problems.

Skill Required:

• Planning: Tactical, Strategic: Knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.
• Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
• Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
• Judgment and Decision Making: Knowledge of the decision-making process; ability to carefully evaluate the impact of emerging business situations and choose the best path forward communicating actions and activities that maximize organizational performance.
• Managing People: Knowledge of processes involved in managing people; ability to lead successful teams, and diligently address issues related to performance and conflicts at the workplace.
• Accounting: Knowledge of accounting methods, processes, and tools; ability to maintain and prepare financial statements and reports using accounting methods and processes.
• Financial Analysis: Knowledge of tools and approaches of financial analysis; ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from financial and numerical material.
• Financial Reporting: Knowledge of processes, methods, and tools of financial reporting; ability to create and maintain accurate and thorough financial reports.

• Financial Governance & Operational Oversight- Brings strong financial and accounting acumen with experience overseeing critical operational processes, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and sustainable program performance.

• Global Process Design & Standardization- Ability to develop, document, and implement consistent accounting and operational requirements across multiple regions, creating scalable solutions that support growth and operational excellence.

• Training & Capability Development- Experienced in translating complex business and accounting requirements into clear guidance, enabling both internal teams and external partners to successfully adopt new processes and programs.

• Customer-Centric Business Acumen- Combines strong commercial awareness with a customer-focused mindset, balancing business objectives, stakeholder needs, and operational effectiveness to deliver value for customers, dealers, and the organization.

• Continuous Improvement & Innovation- Leverages data, technology, automation, and emerging AI capabilities to enhance reporting, streamline operations, improve decision-making, and drive long-term business improvements.

Compensation & Benefits:

Summary Pay Range:

$151,440.00 - $242,304.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.

• This position requires the successful candidate to work full time, 5 days per week in the Nashville main office.
