Job Description

Key member of the Energy F&BO Leadership team supporting the next phase of growth for two of Leidos Energy's core divisions - Digital Grid & Energy Solutions and Utility & Project Solutions - representing over $400M in combined annual revenue. As Senior Manager, Finance & Business Operations, you will serve as a trusted finance and business operations partner to the division leadership teams, reporting directly to the Vice President & CFO, Energy. This is a strong opportunity to support financial performance, operating rhythm, and growth execution for a significant portion of Leidos' five growth pillars under the NorthStar 2030 Strategy.

Leidos Energy is an ENR top-ranked energy engineering provider to a broad range of investor-owned utilities, coop utilities, energy project investors and developers, power generators, and well-known industrial clients. The Digital Grid & Energy Solutions and Utility & Project Solutions divisions deliver core commercial services including utility energy efficiency program design and implementation; digital utility services; communication system engineering; and project management across a broad range of energy-related projects.

This role is well suited to a finance and operations professional with commercial project-based experience who wants to grow into a broader business-partnering role within a fast-growing commercial energy business.

This role blends strong analytical and financial rigor with hands-on business partnering - someone who can work closely with Division Managers on forecasting, pricing support, and key financial metrics, while contributing to a modern, analytics- and AI-enabled Finance & Business Operations function.

Reporting Relationship

This role reports directly to the Vice President & CFO, Energy, and serves as a finance and business operations partner to the leadership of the Digital Grid & Energy Solutions and Utility & Project Solutions divisions. The Senior Manager will lead a divisional Finance & Business Operations team spanning Program Finance/Project Controls, FP&A, and billing support, with close coordination across the broader Energy Finance & Business Operations organization and a dotted-line relationship to Accounting, which reports into the Corporate Controller's Office.

Why This Opportunity

  • Divisional finance role spanning over $400M in combined annual revenue across two strategic Energy divisions
  • Close partnership with division leadership and the Energy Business Area VP & CFO team
  • A career pathway that blends energy, infrastructure, technology, and commercial market capabilities
  • Opportunity to contribute to a modern, analytics and AI-enabled Finance & Business Operations function
  • A strong platform to build experience ahead of broader Energy or enterprise finance leadership roles

Primary Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted finance and business partner to Division Managers within Digital Grid & Energy Solutions and Utility & Project Solutions, supporting bid/no-bid decisions, pricing strategy, market analysis, and capital requests
  • Own division-level forecasting, financial commitments, and margin improvement, escalating risks and opportunities to division and Energy Business Area leadership
  • Lead monthly business reviews for both divisions and coordinate closely with the Energy Business Area VP & CFO on forecast and performance alignment
  • Support the divisions' growth initiatives, partnering with Operations, Growth, Business Development, Technology, and Program teams
  • Lead pricing strategy execution across both divisions, partnering with Growth & Program Management to develop AI pricing tools to be leveraged across the Energy business
  • Contribute to modernization of the F&BO operating model by adopting advanced analytics, automation, and AI-enabled tools to improve forecast accuracy and decision speed
  • Prepare clear, actionable financial analysis and business narratives to support division and Energy Business Area decision-making
  • Lead and develop a team of Project Performance Analysts supporting both divisions
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Exemplify Leidos values of integrity, inclusion, innovation, agility, collaboration, and commitment
  • Support financial controls and compliance across both divisions, partnering with Accounting and the Corporate Controller's Office on internal controls and regulatory requirements (IRS, SEC, and other applicable requirements)

What Success Looks Like

Within the first 12-24 months, this leader will:

  • Support continued growth of the Digital Grid & Energy Solutions and Utility & Project Solutions divisions beyond their current combined $400M+ annual revenue base
  • Become an embedded, trusted finance partner to Division Managers across both divisions
  • Strengthen forecast accuracy, business review cadence, and risk/opportunity visibility across both divisions
  • Contribute to modernization of the F&BO operating model through adoption of analytics and AI-enabled tools
  • Build strong working relationships with the Energy Business Area VP & CFO and the broader F&BO organization
  • Support development of finance talent within the divisional Finance & Business Operations team

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Engineering, or a related discipline
  • 8+ years of progressive experience across finance, business operations, or related functions
  • Experience supporting business units or divisions at meaningful scale, ideally $100M+ in revenue
  • Demonstrated experience operating successfully in a matrixed enterprise environment
  • Proven track record of driving performance improvement and supporting business growth
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with division and senior leadership
  • Demonstrated ability to build and communicate data-driven business cases that support leadership decisions
  • Experience leading and developing teams
  • Working knowledge of analytics, automation, and emerging technologies, including AI, and their application to business performance
  • Ability to balance day-to-day operational execution with support for longer-term strategic initiatives in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment

Preferred Qualifications

We welcome candidates whose experience has been built in energy, utilities, infrastructure, engineering services, or similarly complex regulated/project-based businesses. Deep expertise in one environment combined with demonstrated ability to learn and operate across adjacent markets is highly valued.

  • MBA, CPA, or equivalent advanced degree
  • Experience supporting businesses through periods of growth and scale
  • Exposure to M&A integration activity, including aligning financial systems, reporting, or operating processes across combined businesses
  • Experience supporting AI-enabled operating models, advanced analytics, or digital transformation initiatives
