Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Manager of Identity and Access Management to lead the modernization of its IAM environment. This role will oversee the transition from largely manual, legacy processes to a more automated, scalable, and secure identity platform.
The Senior IAM Manager will be responsible for improving access governance, strengthening authentication and privileged access controls, and ensuring IAM services support business operations while meeting global privacy and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities:
  • Create and execute a long-term IAM roadmap aligned with business priorities, security objectives, and broader technology-modernization initiatives.
  • Lead the implementation and optimization of Identity Governance and Administration tools to reduce manual effort, improve service levels, and accelerate access-request fulfillment.
  • Manage day-to-day IAM operations, including account provisioning and deprovisioning, access approvals, entitlement reviews, and periodic audits of user access.
  • Oversee upgrades, platform migrations, and technology enhancements across the IAM environment while minimizing disruption to business users.
  • Manage and enhance the organization's Privileged Access Management platform, ensuring appropriate controls, monitoring, and governance are in place for privileged accounts.
  • Drive adoption of least-privilege practices by identifying excessive access, reducing overprivileged accounts, and implementing continuous monitoring and remediation processes.
  • Evaluate and improve authentication and authorization capabilities, including multi-factor authentication, single sign-on, and adaptive authentication.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of IAM controls and adjust policies or processes as needed to support global privacy and regulatory requirements, including GDPR, CPRA, PIPL, and similar frameworks.
  • Establish IAM performance metrics and provide regular updates to senior leadership regarding program progress, risks, service levels, and areas for improvement.
  • Improve simulated phishing and security-awareness exercises by ensuring campaigns reflect current threats and provide practical feedback and training to employees.
  • Lead by example in the responsible use of artificial intelligence and large language models to improve team productivity, modernize IAM workflows, and support data-informed decision-making.
  • Partner with cybersecurity, infrastructure, applications, compliance, audit, and business leaders to ensure identity controls support both security and operational needs.
Requirements:
  • 8+ years of experience in Identity and Access Management.
  • At least five years of IAM leadership or people-management experience.
  • Prior experience implementing, administering, or managing Identity Governance and Administration tools is required.
  • Demonstrated experience leading IAM transformation, automation, platform upgrades, or migration initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong understanding of IAM architecture, governance frameworks, access-control models, and industry best practices.
  • Experience managing privileged access, authentication, authorization, and identity lifecycle processes.
  • Knowledge of global privacy and regulatory requirements affecting identity and access controls.
  • Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or a related credential are preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
