Job Summary/Purpose
The Senior Manager, Project Management provides strategic leadership for the successful execution of large, complex transmission, substation, and capital infrastructure distribution projects and programs, typically valued at $175 million or below per project (5-year $500M portfolio) within the ELL-SE and ENOI territories. This role is accountable for delivering projects safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with Entergys quality, governance, and operational excellence standards while supporting the companys long-term business objectives. The five year portfolio averages $500M+ in responsibility.
The Senior Manager leads multidisciplinary teams across Engineering, Project Controls, Supply Chain, Construction, Environmental, Real Estate, Operations, and external contractors to deliver predictable project outcomes through proactive planning, disciplined execution, sound financial management, and effective risk mitigation. This position establishes clear expectations, drives accountability, removes execution barriers, and fosters a culture of ownership, collaboration, continuous improvement, and safety excellence.
As a leader within Capital Projects, the Senior Manager is responsible for ensuring strong project governance throughout the Stage Gate Process, maintaining executive-level visibility into project performance, and providing clear, concise communications regarding cost, schedule, risks, opportunities, resource requirements, and strategic decisions. The role serves as a trusted advisor to senior leadership by translating complex project information into actionable business recommendations that enable informed decision-making.
This position also plays a critical leadership role in developing organizational capability by coaching and mentoring project managers, strengthening project management standards, promoting financial discipline, and building high-performing teams capable of delivering Entergys growing capital investment portfolio with consistency, predictability, and operational excellence.
