This is a rare opportunity to shape and own how talent acquisition strategy is conceived and executed at a global scale. As a Senior Manager, Recruiting Business Partner within Amazon University Talent Acquisition (AUTA), you will serve as a strategic leader and trusted advisor to senior businessstakeholders across multiple lines of business and geographies. You will drive the vision, structure, and delivery of university talent acquisition globally, influencing how Amazon attracts, identifies, and converts the next generation of top-tier talent.

This role offers significant scope, executive visibility, and the opportunity to build and lead high-performing teams in a fast-paced, ambiguous, and deeply collaborative environment.

Key job responsibilities

(-) Serve as a global single-threaded leader for university talent acquisition strategy, partnering closely with regional TA leaders across AMER, EMEA, and APJC to ensure consistent, high-quality hiring outcomes that reflect both global standards and local market realities.

(-) Act as a strategic advisor to senior business leaders, HR Business Partners, and Workforce Planning teams, translating long-range talent needs into actionable, data-informed recruiting strategies that are scalable and globally consistent.

(-) Lead, develop, and inspire a team of Recruiting Business Partners, setting a high performance bar and building the organizational capability needed to deliver against ambitious hiring goals in a dynamic environment.

(-) Define and own team performance goals and operational metrics; establish rigorous tracking mechanisms to drive accountability, surface risks early, and enable data-driven decision-making at the leadership level.

(-) Identify and drive systemic productivity improvements and process innovations that allow the team to scale impact without proportionally scaling headcount, building leverage through tooling, workflow design, and talent development.

(-) Develop and maintain deep expertise in the university talent landscape, including market trends, competitive intelligence, and diversity sourcing strategies, to inform both near-term execution and long-term talent pipeline development.

(-) Lead and sponsor cross-functional initiatives and special projects that advance AUTA's global strategy, including process standardization, technology adoption, and organizational design efforts.

(-) Represent AUTA at the senior leadership level, communicating program health, risks, and strategic recommendations with clarity and executive presence.

About the Company

A

Amazon

At Amazon, we don’t wait for the next big idea to present itself. We envision the shape of impossible things and then we boldly make them reality. So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
