A Houston-based wealth management firm is seeking an experienced Tax Manager or Senior Tax Manager to help build and lead an in-house tax offering for its established client base.
This is an ideal opportunity for a CPA coming out of public accounting who enjoys complex tax work but is ready for a better quality of life.
The firm serves successful business owners, executives, and family groups and has a built-in client base that regularly needs sophisticated tax planning and compliance support. The role will focus on serving existing clients rather than generating new business.

Responsibilities- Review and manage complex individual, partnership, S corporation, C corporation, trust, and family group tax returns
- Provide proactive tax planning for business owners and high-net-worth individuals
- Work closely with financial advisors to integrate tax strategies into broader planning
- Serve as a trusted tax resource for clients
- Research tax issues and communicate recommendations clearly
- Help develop processes and best practices as the tax offering grows
Qualifications- Active CPA required
- 8+ years of tax experience preferred
- CPA firm experience required
- Strong experience with business owners, closely held companies, and high-net-worth individuals
- Ability to manage complex tax work independently
- Strong client communication skills
This could be a great fit for a public accounting Tax Manager or Senior Manager who still enjoys the technical work but is ready to leave behind the grind, heavy overtime, and pressure to sell.
