Amazon MGM Studios is the movies and television development and production arm of Amazon. In service of Amazon"s Prime Video customers globally, it is our role to produce and acquire content, including popular Originals such as The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, The Boys, Fallout, The Summer I Turned Pretty, Project Hail Mary, Road House, The Idea of You, and Red One. Within Amazon MGM Studios, the TV Strategy team is seeking a highly analytical and strategic thinker to join as a Senior Manager of TV Content Strategy in Culver City, CA.

This role will play a crucial part in shaping the future of Amazon MGM Studios by helping define and execute on our Content Strategy for Original Series on Prime Video. This includes a focus on performance tracking, content valuation, and the facilitation of greenlight and renewal decisions. The role will require identifying key drivers of title performance, building recommendations for investment decisions, and optimizing the overall content portfolio to drive customer acquisition, engagement, and retention. The Senior Manager is expected to serve as a thought-leader for one or more genres of content, honing subject-matter expertise while building deep relationships inside the creative org. This role will work closely with senior leaders across creative development, production, business affairs, finance, programming and marketing functions, and will be expected to earn a high degree of trust and communicate effectively with this audience. In addition to title- and genre-specific analysis, the Senior Manager will help manage the improvement of our content valuation frameworks and will deliver deep analytical insights about our overall content portfolio.

We are seeking a candidate who has a strong analytical and financial skillset and a demonstrated passion for the media and entertainment business. The ideal candidate has a balance of hard and soft skills - they enjoy solving complex analytical problems, they build strong relationships with creative partners, and they thrive in a fast-paced environment that is constantly evolving.

Key job responsibilities

  • Lead evaluation of Original Series under consideration for greenlight and renewal, synthesizing creative context, financial models, and strategic fit
  • Analyze Prime Video viewership data to surface insights that inform senior leadership decisions on content strategy and investment
  • Act as a cross-functional strategic partner, building strong working relationships across teams including creative development, physical production, business affairs, finance, programming, marketing, and PR
  • Serve as a knowledge center and champion of improvements in economic modelling, performance forecasting, and reporting frameworks, continuously evolving internal tools and methodologies to sharpen decision-making and improve team efficiency
  • Synthesize complex information from multiple stakeholders to draft documents that shape the direction of Prime Video's Series slate, including recommendations on slate planning, content investments, new business models, and "think big" opportunities
