Senior Material Handler

Pay Range: $25.48hr - $30.48hr

Job Overview:

Performs physical or administrative tasks involved in shipping, receiving, order fulfillment, storing, and distributing materials, parts, supplies, and equipment. Unpacks and checks received goods against purchase orders or invoices, maintains records of received goods, and rejects unsatisfactory items. Lifts heavy items and may operate a forklift. Prepares and maintains records of merchandise shipped, posts weights and shipping charges, and prepares goods for final shipment. Examines, stocks, and distributes materials in inventory and on manufacturing lines, and may prepare kitting packages for assembly production.

Description:

• Requires someone who can follow a procedure to pack individual accessories in pre-defined ways, similar to assembly work.
• Must pay attention to cosmetics and quality, and may need to use hand tools to install shipping locks or remove components before packing.
• Ideal for candidates who prefer physical and inventory-focused work over desk-based assembly positions.
• Candidate must purchase and wear daily safety shoes with composite or steel toes as required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Primary duties will include:

• Working in a shipping and receiving environment.
• Packing and unpacking systems, accessories, parts, and components for the organization.
• Handling delicate and sensitive parts and materials with care.
• Interacting daily with ERP, email, and project management systems.
• Maintaining records of material movement.
• Following detailed packaging procedures for routine equipment combinations.
• Exercising judgment in safe packaging of less common equipment combinations.
• Communicating effectively with members of different teams to coordinate outbound material flow.
• Performing inventory cycle counts, particularly for packing materials used in primary duties.
• Submitting timely replenishment requests for packing materials.
• Assisting in preparing kits for internal or external assembly operations as needed.
• Performing additional related activities as assigned.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience in warehouse, shipping, or receiving roles, including packaging sensitive equipment to prevent transportation damage.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills, both in person and via email or Microsoft Teams.
• Ability to track high volumes of paperwork and inventory effectively.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated reliability and accountability.
• Detail-oriented with a willingness to ask questions to complete tasks accurately.
• Ability to perform efficiently and accurately under stressful situations.
• Experience with SAP is preferred.
