    Job Summary:

    Mercury Systems is seeking the best and brightest talent to help us bring cutting-edge technology to mission-critical aerospace and defense applications, advancing innovation where it matters most. The Senior Mechanical Assembler will perform a variety of tasks relating to production operations on electronics and/or mechanical assemblies and subassemblies.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Install, assemble and inspect electronic components per documented work instructions.
    • Interpret job routers, written instructions, wiring diagrams and schematic drawings for assembly of electronics.
    • Demonstrate professionalism, leadership and initiatives on a daily basis.
    • Perform a variety of inspections to ensure assemblies meet/exceed IPC standards.
    • Perform pass downs with outgoing/incoming shifts.
    • Disassemble and re-assemble, modify, rework assemblies and subassemblies according to specifications and under simulated conditions.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Must be able to travel to Chantilly VA for up to 2 months for training
    • Typically requires 5 or more years of mechanical assembly experience
    • Must have meticulous hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
    • Knowledge of ESD (Electrostatic discharge) procedures
    • Must be detail oriented and able to multitask
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both oral and written
    • Must be able to work a flexible schedule in order to meet production and customer needs
    • High School Diploma or GED
    • Targeted start date: October 2026

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Electronics assembly and inspection experience
    • Knowledgeable of 5S/6S
    • New Process Introduction experience highly preferred
    • Experience with set up and training a team from scratch
    • Soldering under microscope
    • IPC-610/620 and JSTD 001 experience
    • College degree

    • Constant movement and use of limbs. Specific abilities required by this job include prolonged standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing and frequently pinching and/or gripping. Sometimes, working under a microscope for long periods of time will be required
    • Frequently observe, detect, discern, and convey information. Specific abilities required by this job include near, far and color vision acuity, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
    • Requires good manual dexterity and coordination, and stamina. Specific abilities required by this job include the frequent requirement of overtime work.
