Photon Medical Group is seeking a Senior Medical Assistant – Clinic Operations Lead for an onsite employee health center in Princeton, NJ.

You'll remain hands-on clinically while also helping lead the day-to-day organization, readiness, and workflow of the health center.

New Jersey-licensed LPNs with relevant outpatient clinical experience are also encouraged to apply.

What You'll Do

Patient Care

  • Welcome and room patients, obtain vital signs, and document intake information.
  • Perform phlebotomy, specimen collection and handling, point-of-care testing, and EKGs within documented competency.
  • Administer vaccines and injections within applicable scope, training, written orders, and onsite requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and timely EHR documentation.

Clinic Operations

  • Help lead daily patient flow and overall clinic readiness.
  • Coordinate appointments, referrals, follow-up records, and routine clinic needs.
  • Maintain examination rooms, supplies, inventory, equipment, and expiration tracking.
  • Help coordinate PRN coverage and orient new staff to established site workflows.
  • Support patient engagement activities and educational initiatives.
  • Communicate workflow, operational, or patient-safety concerns to the appropriate team members.

What We're Looking For

Medical Assistant candidates should have:

  • Current CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA, or another recognized Medical Assistant certification or registration accepted under New Jersey requirements.
  • Strong, current hands-on phlebotomy experience.
  • Current experience administering vaccines or injections with appropriate training and competency.

Licensed Practical Nurse candidates may also qualify with:

  • Active, unrestricted New Jersey LPN license.
  • Relevant hands-on outpatient clinical experience.

All candidates should have:

  • Current BLS or CPR certification.
  • Experience with patient intake, vital signs, specimen handling, and outpatient clinical services.
  • Strong organizational, communication, patient-service, and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfort using EHR systems and standard office technology.
  • Ability to work independently, stay organized, and take ownership of daily responsibilities.
  • Reliable ability to commute to Princeton, NJ.

Leadership Experience

Previous experience as a Lead Medical Assistant, Senior Medical Assistant, Clinic Coordinator, or in a similar clinic operations role is preferred.

A previous formal lead title is not required. Experienced Medical Assistants who have taken on additional responsibilities such as workflow coordination, inventory, referrals, scheduling, training, or day-to-day clinic organization are encouraged to apply.
