Marty's Mobile Mechanics is a locally owned automotive repair business based in Webster, Texas. We provide professional mobile auto repair and diagnostics throughout Clear Lake, League City, Friendswood, Seabrook, Kemah, Pearland, and surrounding Bay Area communities.

We handle everything from complex electrical diagnostics and drivability problems to A/C repairs, brakes, fuel systems, starters, alternators, and general automotive repairs.

We're growing and looking for an experienced technician who knows how to diagnose problems correctly, work independently, and take pride in doing the job right.

Position Overview

We're hiring a Senior Mobile Automotive Diagnostic Technician with at least 7 years of professional automotive repair experience.

This is not an entry-level position. We need someone who can accurately diagnose mechanical and electrical problems, identify the root cause of vehicle failures, and complete repairs without constant supervision.

You'll travel directly to customers, diagnose their vehicles, explain your findings, and perform approved repairs.

Because this is a mobile position, you must have your own reliable work vehicle, professional tools, and the ability to work independently in the field.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced automotive diagnostics and troubleshooting.
• Diagnose check engine lights, no-start conditions, drivability concerns, and intermittent failures.
• Troubleshoot electrical systems, wiring, sensors, modules, and communication networks.
• Diagnose and repair automotive A/C and heating systems.
• Repair brakes, suspension, steering, cooling, fuel delivery, starting, and charging systems.
• Use professional scan tools, multimeters, wiring diagrams, and diagnostic equipment.
• Accurately identify vehicle problems before recommending repairs.
• Complete approved repairs efficiently and correctly.
• Document diagnostic findings, completed repairs, and recommended services.
• Communicate professionally with customers and explain repair needs clearly.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Minimum Qualifications

• At least 7 years of professional automotive repair experience — required.
• Strong automotive diagnostic and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Must own professional automotive tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Must have a reliable personal work vehicle suitable for mobile automotive repair
• Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
• Experience using automotive scan tools, service information, and wiring diagrams.
• Strong understanding of modern automotive systems.
• Ability to perform repairs safely at customer locations.
• Good communication skills and professional customer service.

Compensation

Starting at $30 per flagged labor hour (flat-rate).

Compensation is based on flagged labor hours for completed work, not simply the number of hours spent on the clock.
