Senior Modeling and Simulation Engineer

Job Description BAE Systems is looking for Modeling and Simulation support to a military training program. The candidate will work with a team of engineers, training developers, and instructors to deliver an integrated technical training solution to the military customer. The position is hybrid and will require at least 3 days per week in the office. The successful candidate will have a combination of military modeling and simulation expertise, engineering knowledge, and business strategy experience.

Job Tasks:

• Modeling and Simulation Design and Integration:

• Design solutions for the military application of modeling and simulation including: wargaming, training, education, exercises, and planning.

• Research and recommend modeling and simulation tools and methods for modeling and simulating aggregate air and joint campaigns from the tactical to operational levels

• Lead the integration and deployment of constructive modeling and simulation tools, and assist in their employment in live, virtual, constructive (LVC) environments.

• Engineering Management and Execution:

• Lead engineering design and review processes

• Drive system integration work involving off-the-shelf and developmental software and hardware, overseeing all components of this effort

• Oversee system test planning and system tests; ensure all testing is scheduled and occurs

• Business Strategy

• Contribute to development of business strategy for follow-on and adjacent work

• Recommend and insert modeling and simulation solutions and methods into new business solutions as appropriate

• Contribute technical expertise and writing input for proposals

• Travel:

• This role requires domestic and international travel.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

Required Skills:

• Modeling and Simulation for military end-users: constructive, aggregate campaign-level combat models for military forces
• High-Level Architecture (HLA) for communications

General Skills:

• Technical writing
• Briefing development and presentation

Education: At least a Bachelor''s degree in engineering, computer science, or systems engineering (Master''s/PhD preferred)

Experience: 10+ years' experience in defense/aerospace systems engineering, solution architecture, or technical leadership

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills Preferred Skills:

• Experience working with military customers in wargaming, training, education, exercises, and planning
• Familiarity with air and joint military operations
• Business strategy and proposal writing

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $136000 - $231200

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
