The client is seeking an experienced Senior Natural / ADABAS Developer to join the MAVERICS System Support Team at the Mississippi Department of Human Services.
The selected candidate will support, maintain, and enhance the state's enterprise-wide SNAP/TANF Eligibility Determination System. This role involves developing and implementing system enhancements, integrating applications across multiple platforms, modernizing existing processes, and improving system automation.
The ideal candidate will bring extensive hands-on experience with Natural programming, ADABAS databases, IBM Mainframe/Linux environments, and automated eligibility determination systems.
Design, develop, enhance, and maintain applications using Natural programming and ADABAS.
Develop and execute Natural programs in both batch and online environments using JCL and/or SCL.
Analyze, design, and implement solutions for large-scale and complex development projects.
Support and maintain enterprise applications running on IBM Mainframe and Linux platforms.
Provide technical expertise and recommendations on system architecture and application enhancements.
Evaluate existing systems and processes and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and performance.
Support the implementation of state and federal mandates within the eligibility determination system.
Develop, maintain, and update technical documentation, procedures, policies, and processes.
Manage system notices and promote changes through development, testing, and production environments.
Support system integrations with applications operating across different technology platforms.

Ideal Candidate ProfileThe ideal candidate will have:
10+ years of hands-on Natural and ADABAS development experience.
Strong experience with IBM Mainframe and Linux environments.
Experience supporting large-scale, automated eligibility determination systems.
Knowledge of SNAP and TANF programs, eligibility policies, and government regulations.
Experience implementing state and federal mandates in enterprise applications.
Strong understanding of application development, system integration, batch processing, and production support.
Additional Contract DetailsThis is a full-time, onsite contract opportunity.
Candidates must be available to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM.
Participation in a rotating on-call schedule is required.
Occasional overtime may be necessary.
Fingerprint-based background screening is required.
Travel expenses are not reimbursed, and travel is not required.
