Senior .NET Developer - Ancillary Products (AWS/C#)

Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid) | Contract: 12 months with potential extension

About the Role

Join a dynamic technology team as a Senior .NET Developer, leading the design, development, and modernization of critical ancillary applications. Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a hybrid environment to deliver innovative solutions using the latest in Microsoft .NET and AWS technologies. This contract role offers the opportunity to work on impactful projects with potential for extension and professional growth.

Responsibilities

• Drive requirements analysis and technical solution design for new and existing applications
• Architect, develop, and enhance scalable backend systems using .NET Core and C#
• Build, integrate, and optimize RESTful APIs (Kong preferred)
• Implement robust CI/CD pipelines and DevOps processes (Harness preferred)
• Monitor and improve application performance with observability tools (Dynatrace)
• Refactor, test, and debug code to ensure quality and maintainability
• Collaborate in Agile/Scrum teams to deliver project milestones on time
• Maintain comprehensive technical documentation throughout the development lifecycle
• Serve as a subject matter expert and provide technical guidance across teams

Required Skills and Experience

• Advanced expertise in .NET Core and C# backend development
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS services and cloud architecture
• Proficient in API development and integration
• Solid understanding of DevOps, CI/CD, and deployment best practices
• Experience using observability and monitoring tools (e.g., Dynatrace)
• Skilled in testing practices and quality engineering
• Familiar with SQL Server, MVC patterns, HTML5, and CSS3
• Comfortable working in Agile/Scrum environments

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Kong API gateway and Harness CI/CD platform
• Performance tuning, profiling, and cost optimization in AWS
• Security best practices in cloud environments
